Bornhorst's lectures are almost 100% him reading off of long powerpoints. He goes super fast so you don't have time to write everything down and when he sends the powerpoints to the class they are missing a bunch of sections; normally the sections you didn't get to write down. He is a brutal grader and the test questions are often unclear.

Teddy Bornhorst is a LEGIT instructor!! Wants his students to succeed! He has a strong interest in Mineralogy! Emailed the lecture notes to every student for convenient studying! Gave study guides for exams! Study the guides and lecture notes and you are GOLDEN! Mineralogy lab in general was very FUN and interesting! I HIGHLY recommend him!!!

great lectures but totally unfair grader. be sure to be one of his favorites and you will ace the class. but if your not a female good luck. he picks favorites, and those favorites are usually girls.he also has never had a male TA.I would say take with a different professor but he is your only option for this class.... sorry

Go to class just for the quizzes. If you pay attention somewhat, you'll do fine. Do the labs beforehand and you can leave right away. I slept through several lectures and still got an A.

I failed his class. Really, I did. But I had an A in the lab, and wound up, from the curve, with a C- in the class. He seemed like a nice guy, but I just wasn't that interested in the topic. I never paid attention in class lectures. Still, he seems like a good guy, and the curve is immense.

GE2000 is an easy class, but in his upper-level classes, Ted is an cruel grader and assumes we know too much. Beware, he plays favorites. Sometimes he can be helpful but a lot of the time he is incomprehensible and a very unfair grader. He is lenient in GE2000 but be wary of his upper-level classes.

Excellent teacher! He really likes the pictures in the book. As long as you can comprehend the figures, you should be golden. Read through the slides and look at the figures and the tests should go fine. He curves a ton, so don't worry about getting 14 or 15 wrong on a test, because that will probably be one of the top grades. Geology Rocks!

Great Lecturer. Disscusses topics well and tests are clear. Labs were kinda tough but I had a bad TA which was probably the reason. Half way pay attention study vocab heavily and skim topics before exams and you'll get an A.

One of my favorite profs-very energetic guy who likes what he does; gets pissed when people get up and leave in the middle of class though. overall if you show up and pay attention in class you will do fine. He curves pretty much everything

I really thought he was **** the whole time he was infront of the class but that's just the way he is, waving and staggering around. He gets into the subject in a freaky way. The curves upon curves which really cannot be explained less you are waving and staggering about makes it hard to do poorly in his class.
