This was a confusing class. At first he used the book, but toward the end of the class he was just teaching what he knows (which is a crazy ton of information). Class isn't mandatory, but it is extremely helpful. The book gets referred to and used for homework, so you have to get one. I recommend video recording the test reviews because he pretty gives you a review of the actual test. Real nice guy, too.
