Great professor! I loved the topics he decided to teach and he is a very fair marker. Exam and essay were fairly easy as they were opinion based - as long as you can write, you will do well! He was extremely helpful and always ready to listen to students. Encourages discussion. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want to do well it's best.

One of my most favorite profs! Picks interesting topics for class and is very real in his lectures. You have to really listen to take in all the information he gives though as power points provide a very simple skeleton. Fair marker and if you show commitment, he responds well! Textbook was boring, but useful.

I am a not an Arts student taking this class and I enjoyed it. Very helpful and caring prof - he wants to see his students learn and succeed. The essay topic was a 'pick your own' yet he is still willing to sit down and help you work through it. I highly recommend and would take a class with him again.

Overall great prof but I think his expectations for a 100 level into poli sci class were too high. Very clear and interesting prof. Going to the final study sessions with him will give you tips for the finals and help get an idea of what he mainly wants to question you on. Make sure you know definitions in the book.

Great teacher and definitely knows his stuff and is excited to discuss it. Class was always very interesting, particularly when he gave us free range to join in with any opinion. A little vague on expectations for the paper but all in all great class if you have even an inkling of interest in politics.

Great prof. His interest in teaching is apparent, and he truly cares about increasing everyone's knowledge about subject area, not making your life difficult. He went off topic sometimes, but this greatly enriched the experience. Highly recommend, I'd imagine his upper-level courses are even better than this intro course.

He clearly knows what he's talking about, but he seemed bored with the class content (he normally teaches higher levels). He was extremely vague with his expectations for the written assignment as well as for exams. I would take a class with him again - just not an entry level one.

Dr. Keating definitely knows his stuff! He said he hadn't taught an intro class in a long time, but knew great ways to explain things to us that didn't go over our heads. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal prof. He's extremely knowledgeable in the area and is quite deft at passing it onto students that regularly attend class. Very approachable and helpful when it comes to essays. Tests are relatively straightforward and simple. The research assignment gives you a solid understanding of a specific part of IR, applicable to his exams.

Dr. Keating is an awesome professor. He is very approachable and helpful. He even moved the date of our paper for the class up by over two weeks when we asked. His online notes make lectures easy to follow. His exams are easy if you attended class at least half of the time and kept up on online notes for the ones you missed. Overall, excellent prof

one of the most knowledgable and caring professors in this department. definitely not pretentious like many profs, and extremely approachable. lectures are dry, but its because its an introductory course to international relations, obviously one cannot cover the gritty details of IR, but he does an excellent job.
