Tom gives lab a bad name. It's supposed to be a happy place. He is, in my opinion, incredibly difficult and takes a private pleasure in kicking intellectual ass. If you're taking a class with him don't expect a high mark.

Comment:

Tom was a fairly decent prof, but some of the labs and lab exams were marked brutally. Going into this class, I expected the labs to be the GPA booster part of the course, but with Tom that was definitely not the case. Tom was however, very knowledgeable and willing to help you out if you needed it.

everyone says how hard his tests are, and if you were paying any attention during the labs, and if you actually took a little time to study you'd find it not so. His lab exams are easy to study for and easy to take! he always knows just a little bit extra!

Tom is about the most anal person i've ever met. His exams cover obscure details. He tested on topics he said even doctors train for years to understand...it's first year f'ing biology - get a grip.
