Homework is optional but I strongly recommend you do all of them for practice. He has strong accent and work things out really fast so I stop going to class one month in the semester. I mostly learned from my TA, homework and reading on my own. Tests usually has lots of material for inly 50 minutes. He does give test review and answer key online

Self learners, might do okay in the class. The hardest professor i've ever had. Accent is very strong, he works really fast and does not record lectures. Weekly HW, 3 test, and a final and they are all in class, barely gives partial credit as well. I only learned in Lab and the TA was not all that great either. I took weber and did way better.

Very insightful in his teaching style, he builds your math skills up from bottom-top, like how cells become organ systems. Very helpful indeed. Would definitely recommend for math geeks and noobs.

He's fast and not great at explaining things. For the majority of the subject I watched Youtube videos online to help me understand. You are graded on tests, quizzes given every week in lab and EMCF quizzes. 4 Tests (including final) are all free response and final replaces lowest test grade. TA is better at teaching subject and more helpful.

Incredibly hard to understand. Means well but is rather harsh. 3 exams, 1st is the hardest. Optional final that replaces lowest test grade. Final is an exact culmination of the 3 tests. EMCF/Lab Quizzes count as a test grade-go to lab. YouTube videos sometimes won't cut it-I recommend going to class. No, if any curve, given- maybe 2 points.

When you go to him to ask about your grades, he seems to not have valid back up answers. I got a question completely wrong on a test even though my final answer was correct because of my intermediary work. He's a tough grader and makes the class so much harder than it has to be. I don't recommend him and regret not dropping the class when I couldve

Hard grader but still got through the class. Barely. He is a nice guy though and does want to help out as much as possible. He seems like one of those people who is so smart, he can't explain the simple things because his mind moves too fast.

"If you're struggling with this material... too bad, figure it out." -Dr. Pan This quote sums up his attitude toward teaching... you are very much on your own. The text book is useless as it doesn't explain anything in a way that's easy to understand. His reviews are not representative of the material that will be tested which is a fun surprise!!

His accent is not bad. I could understand him at least. He loves what he teaches and is very helpful. If you don't understand, ask a question. He is helpful during class and can easily be reached. If you can't make his office hours, he'll try to make other arrangements. The class is an easy A, just do the homework.

He teaches very fast, so don't write everything down from his powerpoints. They should be online, so it's best to learn how he solves problems. TA's will help clarify concepts you don't understand from lecture. I'd say the first part of the semester (up to the first test) was the most difficult. After the first test, the course was relatively easy.

The five week summer class is the way to go. Three midterms and homework (best 1115). Midterms are very straightforward. Just do the ta and his review and the exam is basically that. Let's you opt out of the final if you want. I didn't go to a single lecture and got a B. Majority of the class (75%) got 80's or better on the exams.

He is a nice guy and answers questions. has a thick accent, but explains material well. you need to know your calc I and II well. has review sessions before each test and gives a review sheet. the test are easier then the reviews, so if you can do the reviews, your fine. 3 tests, optional final, and lots of quizzes. no homework, but do it anyway.

Pan is a nice guy and a good teacher. With that being said this class is not a breeze. Don't take this class with the misconception that it will be easy since cal II was; that's what I did. Cal III is a different ball game. Test are difficult and so are quizzes. You really need to study and understand the material because you will not be babied!

Lectures were awesome. He basically goes step by step on many example problems, never had to study for tests too hard because he explained each step. TAs are completely useless. Don't bother coming other than taking weekly quizzes. Tests were very easy if you understood all the examples he did in lecture. I bombed the first test.

Lectures are not helpful! The TA's teach a different method then him and sometimes get's confusing. Cross your fingers you get a good TA ( I didn't). Only lab quizzes and 4 tests. First test is really hard 2&3 are alright. I recommend taking the online class because you have a better chance of making a higher grade. Good Luck

A reasonable professor, but WILL NOT baby you like your past math profs! GROW UP! Not a math orientated major, GO TO CASA AND LAB for help! Pro-tip/steps: Read theory portion out of book, write and follow lecture examples, compare lecture examples with book examples and rewrite notes, DO HOMEWORK, memorize equations, show work on exams. No curve.
