Comment:
DO NOT take this class unless you are prepared to spend a unnecessary amount of time on it. For an into, online class there is approx 6 hrs of lecture, 150-200 pg textbook, 50-80 pg extra book and a 1-1.5 hr movie per exam and he will ask extremely specific details. The entire grade comes from 4 exams and he does not curve well. Avoid if you can.

If you can take another class I strongly recommend doing so. This online class requires sooo many hours of work it is not worth it, and it is definitely not an easy A. If you are not self motivated to watch all the lectures, read all the chapters, and watch the movies you will not do well in this course.

The online lectures and videos are old and generally uninteresting. The material in the textbook is more interesting though. The tests tend to cover a lot of material (four chapters from the textbook, plus at least one video and six online lectures). The study guides are very helpful. This class is not an easy A, but it isn't super difficult either

Comment:
Worst professor of all times. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. For being an introductory anthropology class the amount of information for each test is ridiculous. Two books to read, lecture videos and movies to watch totaling 9-13 hours of videos per test. Only grades are test and theyre extremely specific and ridiculous. Overall this class is a joke.

Comment:
This class covered material from 3 different books, as well as his lecture material. Given the large amount of information, the tests were extremely detailed and more along the lines of "trivia" than testing conceptual knowledge. Make flashcards for specific statistics mentioned in the text and for quoted authors

Basically, memorize everything in the book and in the lectures. His tests are EXTREMELY detailed. However, it is doable with a solid study plan. Do not get behind or it will be unbearable. Material is very, very interesting. Some of his slides can be condensed, write in your own words to save time. Study well!!

Tests were super easy as long as you do the assigned readings, and read through the lecture PDFs a few times. He provides study guides too.

The tests are very very specific, but if you read the lectures (you don't have to listen to them), watch the movies, and do the reading, the tests are fairly simple. You get what you put in to this class. If you skip out on the work, you'll realize fairly quickly that you won't be prepared come test time.

I took his 201 class online and the lectures were horribly boring. I managed to get an A by just reading and taking notes on the powerpoint lectures he posts on eCampus and never watched a single lecture after that. Make sure to read the book and watch the one or two videos he tells you to and to take notes. Really easy class if you put in work.

201 online: His lectures are monotone and he keeps mispronouncing words which kind of throws you off. The exams sometimes ask very detailed questions. On the exam, about half of the questions are from the book (read it) and half from lecture videos. Study guide question often appear on the exam as well so study them.

Okay, guys. If you're not self-disciplined, don't take ANTH 205 online. It is A LOT of work. There was a lot of reading for this class and the exams ask very detailed questions about the readings. Also assigns movies to watch outside of the normal lectures that are pretty long and dry. A good grade is possible, it's just not an easy A.

This was the absolute worst course I have ever taken during my time at A&M so far. There are about 7 lectures, 8-9 chapters of textbook readings, and 1-2 videos/movies that Professor Bryant requires students to know details about for each of the 4 exams. The lectures and readings are very long and I would NOT recommend this course/prof to anyone.

As an online class, it is very difficult to fully understand the material when all you have are video lectures and a textbook. I never went to office hours and I always crammed for exams the day before because I forgot about this class, so maybe I would've done better if I tried harder. I did get a B so as long as you read the textbook you'll be ok

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The workload and reading required for this class are ridiculous - too much to be considered an introductory class. The tests are extremely hard and specific, in order to do well, you must watch every lecture diligently as well as the assigned movies and reading from the two books. With that said, good luck!

This class was the worst class I have ever taken at A&M. For a beginners course, it was absolutely ridiculous. He does curve, but I would take the in-class lecture versus the online class. You will stay more discipline because the work adds up quick. I would not recommend this class to anyone.

This class blows... Beware. I heard it was easy and I was sadly mistaken. By the end of the year I was banking on him giving his usual 15-20 point curves on the test because everyone failed so miserably.

This class started out easy and only got harder as the course went on. His lectures are very long, and the reading for each test is about 5 chapters. Some sections were interesting, but for the most part I was bored during these online lectures. The class is definitely passable, you will need to put more time than you would expect into studying.

There is loads of reading and I recommend going to his lectures. Don't panic if you miss one though because he puts his notes up online. Make sure you remember the readings and answer the review question at the end of each one of them. That where most of the reading questions come from.
