Dr Wendys anthropology 102 was the most organized class that Ive ever had. She cares about the students and does everything to clarify the subjects as much as possible. Best teacher so far

I question her credentials due to her word usage. She said AD stands for "After Death" not Anno Domini. She pronounces Guadalupe "Guada-loop." Her knowledge of magic, religion, and witchcraft is limited to the articles she assigns. When she lectures, she pontificates. She is narcissistic and doesn't allow room for correction. Will the semester end?

By all means please do not take this class with Wendy. I took a once a week class with her maybe that was the mistake. The class was both very lecture and reading dense, it is hard to know what EXACTLY to memorize from the readings and lectures, in order to get a good grade on the test.

Had her for anthro 104. This class was an easy A for me, but if you are not good at following confusing lectures, this class will be impossibly hard. Her lectures are very tangential and it is hard to get out the main points sometimes. She also has a "research" project that is a lot of work and quite annoying and overall doesnt give you many points

Dr. Fonarow was not my favorite at the beginning of the semester, but once we dived into the unusal, intriguing topics, it began to grow on me. This class was definiteley one of my most memorable ones. The reading will be overwhelming if you procrastinate them, quizzes once a week on the readings. you have to go to class her lectures are important.

I love studying and reading so I thought I'd love this class but the teachers attitude was so bad that it overshadowed anything.i did all the readings and more but the tests were on random details .u can never predict anything. Im a sociology major so I should have loved this but as I said, this woman was like someone from a bad movie.

I have taken 3 of Fonarow's classes and enjoyed every single one. I almost changed my major to anthropology because of her passion and insight on the subject. I would recommend popping into one of her office hours and talking to her about her classes rather than using this as the deciding factor. I personally think her classes are valuable to take

Professor Fonarow is super friendly person. Her lectures are interesting and I learned so much in this class. People give her a bad rating because they either don't read or don't study. Her tests are not hard, its all based on the lectures and readings! She truly cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. Just ask her for help!

The tests were difficult and the lectures are long. She is not a patient teacher, so dont ask a lot of questions esp before class. Be careful to call her doctor or she will get very angry. Other than that, do your work and remain quiet . if you choose to take this class, which i wish i had never done. I wish i had read these first.

Dr. Fonarow is a great professor and I highly recommend that you take her Anthropology 105 class! Her lectures are very interesting and if you put in the work and do the readings, you will succeed in this class. Also, her weekly quizzes make the final easier because you're tested on each unit.

I took two of her classes and she is the best professor I have ever had in my life. I know that a lot of the reviews seem to paint her out in a negative light but she is truly an amazing and passionate professor. Please dont let the negative reviews detour you from her extraordinary classes. If you study, and pay attention then you will be fine.

i hated this class with all my passion. I thought anthropology sounded great but i was disappointed. i didn't like how this teacher, always talks about herself and wht she does with music and things. I don't care. She doesn't teach well at all. I wish I didn't take it. Now I am scared to ever take an anthro class again.

SKIP THIS CLASS. Take anything else but this. She teaches as if you already know the basis of athro. we do not. teach us lady! she loves to talk about her phd but fails to realize we don't know the basics yet. I love school and studying but this was horrible. Yes she is narcisstic and tries to act like a teenager but mainly her teachings are bad.

Has an almost psychotically adversarial relationship with her students. It's like she's rooting for you to fail and seems almost disappointed when you don't. Has a ton of name-dropping stories about being a groupie, but seems to hate young people. I got a B+ but it was barely worth showing up.

worst teacher and class I have ever had. She is arrogant and narcissistic. She can barely look you in the face when talking. I have seen her sneer at students and was there when she caused the sweet gentle exchange student to cry. I couldn't concentrate after that. Her class is extremely boring. Take anything else if you can. do not waste you time.

Passionate about cultural anthropology. Her class was a cost free textbook. She does give out a lot of reading, but its manageable. Don't be afraid of her, she is very nice. There are only three test including the final, a paper, and a family tree. You watch films once a week for case study. her class was easy, and she tries to make it interesting

I learned a lot in class. She knows her stuff. My only knock on her is she cant engage with a student before class starts. If asked a question she would get exasperated and dismissive. Students stopped asking for clarification. Like she had the lesson planned out & answering a question would throw her off? She was open to questions during lectures.

I love professors that are straight forwards and know their material. If I was an Anthro major I would take all her classes!! DONT TAKE FOR EASY A! Grades are earned in this class.

Just choose another professor, there is no point in arguing with her. In the end, it only matters what her mood dictates. The tests are unnecessary tricky, they don't really prove whether you understood the content or not. These are just about details of the readings and the "essay" questions have to be answered exactly as the ideas in her mind...
