He's a really great guy and soc of Boston is an interesting class for the most part, it was probably my favorite. If you go to class everyday and take good notes you don't need the book at all and can easily get an A in the class.

Definitely more of a History of Boston course than a Sociology course. Gets off topic and wastes a lot of time with stories, but knows a ton about the city.

he is a really smart guy who knows everything about Boston! he is also very helpful you can ask him for help at any time! his pop up quizzes can be tricky but its not a problem if you attend classes. the research project is interesting but not very easy to get an A. overall you will learn a lot about boston!!!

Prof. Holton seems like a really nice, helpful guy, but unfortunately this class is terribly boring, especially if you have any prior knowledge about Boston. The syllabus reads more like the history of Boston and he puts me to sleep with his monotone voice describing the filling of the Back Bay. i wouldn't recommend this as a 'fun' class.

He is a nice guy and really knows Boston well. He is very passionate about what he teaches. He is monotone when he talks so it is sort of east to fall asleep but the project is fairly easy. It is an interesting class.

Very interesting class, and it's obvious that Willfred is passionate about what he teaches. He's there to help you, not to hurt you. Very very nice guy, and again very passionate about his subject.

Knowledgeable. Willing to work out difficulties w/ students 1on1. Perhaps a little longwinded. A decent human being, though not the prof. I fantasize coming back in five years and sipping brandy with - too dry. He has repeatedly admitted to being a 'dirty old man' - weird, though cool in a way(?)

Very nice guy, willing to go out of his way to help you. This class is no push over though, you need to work hard. He won't just hand you a good grade. Its not easy to get an A. Class can be boring at times.
