Mr. Bettencourt is great. His lecture was top notch. He would seem like a tough grader, but after knowing his grading style, easy A. Also, TAKE HIS CLASS NOW BECAUSE HE IS GOING TO RETIRE AFTER NEXT YEAR.

"Bill B." is been great. He made economics real & relevant, rather than a bunch of theories to memorize or calculations to perform. He tells great first-hand stories and allows for lots of discussion in class. The best part - only ONE group project and his tests, while not EASY, are very much in line with the text book. Straight shooter. :)

Loved him. Favourite professor ever! Really easy (Even though I read the textbook, you could not read the textbook and just pay attention to his lectures and pass the class). Very funny and humourous, not intimidating whatsoever (he does 'yell' at you if you show up late). Take his class 100% of the time! :)

Your overall final grade relies on the group project as your final. One of my team members didn't show up and we all failed. Seems like an unfair grading system. Would not take again...

The hardest 4.0 I've ever gotten. He's a harsh grader, so go talk to him if you feel he was too harsh, ignore his intimidating demeanor. Lectures are amazing, very informative and relevant to quizzes and essay exams. Tangents and stories are very helpful. Class notes (from his stories and examples etc) are VERY important for essay exams.

He's an interesting guy who LOVES talking about his younger days in Japan. It was a hybrid class so he just had lectures but online quizzes were often hard so make sure to double check your quiz answers.

Gets a bit off topic and loves talking about his younger years in Japan, but no harm in that. His tests are easy, he feels disrespected if you skip his class. Just listen to him talk, do as accordingly planned and you will pass easily.

I took three of his classes and got A on all of them. However, I honestly do not see him as a good professor because he cares nothing more than "format". He gives little room of discussion in class and as a result, so long as the students show up, they'd get full points for participation. He is also the worst listener I've seen among teachers.

Great professor. Gets off topic sometimes. His tests are not too hard, if you pay attention in class. I recommend him.

Explained concepts well/gave pretty good examples, you just have to attend class on time & in full to know the material. The class wasn't super stressful at all. My one complaint is that sometimes he would extend the due dates of work at the last minute & announce it to the class, but he wouldn't make an announcement/change the date on Canvas.

I've heard William is a good teacher in real life, however, online, he is impersonal, sometimes hard to reach, provides criticism with no constructive element, would not recommend taking his online course.

His lectures are very interesting and always gets the class to laugh and get engaged. The only bad thing I would say about his class is that not all of the textbook readings would match up with his lectures, and the take home exams had some pretty tricky questions. I would for sure take this class again, but make sure to stay awake during 2 hours.

If you're a transfer degree, do NOT take this class. The UW does not accept this class as accredited. God forbid you get sick or for whatever reason miss class, he will destroy your grade. He does not show up for his office hours, so don't even bother going there. Unreliable professor. Don't take this class if you want to actually learn something

Disrespectful, intolerant to students. If You take his class make sure you AGREE w/ his opinion. If you miss a class or two do not expect anything but a C. He doesn't care how good your paper is, he cares that you show up for class. Worst instructor I have had at edmonds and I have over 60 credits. Homework is key to learning, he does not give any.

Instructor cares about quantity over quality. Each missed class he will deduct about 7/100 of your final grade. I sat in center of class and 1 student who sat at the front always brought his laptop and helmet to class. Every class he spent on Facebook but he was ALWAYS there. So that's all Bettercourt cared about and gave him 30/30 participation

Awesome professor. Always gives examples to better explain the material. He wants to see his students learn something in his class. He doesn't like when students are late to class. Attendance is accounted in your grade so if you miss too many days or late often it will reflect on your grade. Turn in all your work and take the chapter quizzes on-line. Overall he is a very cool professor and very helpful.

He's okay. I wouldn't say he's "the best" teacher. Sometimes, I feel like all of his lectures doesn't make any sense. If you compare your lecture notes with the textbook , it's completely different. I dunno weather I should read the textbook or just procrastinate. Plus, his exams are a bit confusing, but he's really helpful.
