DO not take this class.I took onlne lass so This is very hard class I have ever had. Too much homework,midterm and final is very diffucult.Teacher never respond email on time,always next day or later.I would not recommended this class with this teacher.

I can easily say this was the worst teacher in the history of my college career. Although I did take an online version of the class, the amount of school work due in this class was equal to a full time job (6-8 hrs of studying/homework each day!) you might get lucky and catch a weekend day off... Or not.

i used to like math and get good grades in it before i took this class.instead of making pre-calc concepts easier,james makes them more difficult to understand.she is a nice & funny teacher but not the best person for teaching pre-calc.i recommend not taking her b/c doing so will likely hurt your gpa as it did mine.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, or just take it with another teacher. She talks down to students and makes math 96 feel like there not as smart as others. I did every homework assignment and studied for every test and i failed the class. There are many math teachers that are willing to help students and not just fail them and this is not one of them.

Prof. James is awsome. Very nice, old fashioned lady. Reminds me a lot of my grandma. There is a lot of HW, but she teaches math very well. She can be a little strict with slackers, but she's overall a very nice lady. she will prepare you well for future math classes! take james!

I had her for math 95 & 96, and I would recommend her to anyone! I learned so much from her, so really knows her math and is a great professor. She encourages students to do well in her class. Her grading is fair, you get what you work for. If you want to actually learn math, take her class!

Great teacher. One of the best at Miramar. Uses visual aids and really reaches out to the class. Wants you to use her office hours. Comes off a little stern, but is very nice. If you grew up without being disciplined you probably won't understand that part of her. She's actually pretty cool.

Comment:

Homework is a must and is due every week, but it really keeps you on track. Lectures are great. Tests are challenging, but that's the nature of calculus. She really made me work hard for an A, but I believe it will help in future math classes. She's really helpful and loves it when you ask for help outside class hours.

Best math teacher ever! Highly recommended if you need alot of math for your degree. Only math prof I've ever had that actually explains what she's teaching...not just a bunch of random theorems. She makes a hard subject easy. Homework every week, but it kept me from slacking off & getting behind. No free A's, but her grading is clear and fair.

She is a very good teacher and is very good at teaching the concepts. She gives lots of homework, and your grade will be hurt if you blow it off. Her test are very difficult. The Larson text book she has to use is hard to follow. IF you pay attention in class and work hard she will teach you the subject well.

This teacher is a really GOOD math teacher! Yeah you have to try really hard to get a good grade and there is ALOT of homework and tests are kind of hard but she prepares you for them! If you are a determined hardworker who may not even be good at math like me TAKE HER!...you will learn math!!

She is one the best math teacher's i've ever had!She teaches in such a simple/understanding way!Homework is a bummer though. There is at least 2 hours of homework per night, and the tests are pretty difficult. You cannot miss a day in this class. It will screw you over. Also Final has everything from the beginning on it! But she is a great teacher

She's a tough grader, on both tests AND hw. However, she's one of the nicest teacher I've ever met and very willing to help. Just do the homework, ask questions in class, and you'll definitely get a B and above. Be willing to work hard in her class.

She's the best teacher I've ever had. Tests are not hard, just finish all the homework she requires and you'll find the tests are so easy! Final exam is a 3-hour exam, but easy.So, take her class, you'll enjoy math alot!

She is the worst teacher I ever had. She Does not go over homework during class, unless you show up early before class starts. Also, acts like one of those rude elementary teacher. She checks every homework and test thoroughly, so there is no room for ANY mistakes. Group studies and full time commitment is required to pass this class.

Prof. James is a very tough teacher. I worked harder, and spent more time in this class than my other three classes combined. I got all A's in those, and a C in hers. Her testing style leaves you no margin of error. Her quizes have 2-3 problems, and the tests have less than 20. So if you make just a few mistakes...you fail! Don't take her!
