Comment:
This teacher is soooo dry and it's really hard to understand his accent. There was a 60% final with no option for extra credit (like most other psych classes offer). The final is very detailed and midterms are cumulative even if he says they're not.

literally so funny and caring, he's such a sweet old man but his tests are so unacceptable. There's a least 100 pages of reading for exams plus non-corresponding lectures, and he's gonna ask questions like: "What was Aristotle's father's profession?" As if you remember these minor details while studying over 50 theories. Ilu zbigz but come on.

This class was SO boring - took it as a summer class and he literally didn't mention psychology once in the first 2 weeks, it was all general Western Civ history. He's a really nice guy, but his voice is SO monotone and slow, and he clears his throat and coughs every 2 seconds. Painfully boring class, testing on super minute details - lots of work!

I loved this class. I am a PSYC-Neuroscience student at McGill who took more than 30 courses in psychology department and I am brave enough to say that none of my classes taught me what I know today after taking this course with prof pleszewski. I would recommend this class to those who really love psychology and who wanna know about its root.

I personally found this class to be one of the most boring classes I have taken at McGill. Content is interesting but the prof is so monotone, and it's hard to understanding his accent. Exams need crazy studying and it is literally simply testing you're memorization capacity. The information does not flow its a bunch of names and facts.

Comment:
Awful lecturer. Incredibly dull and doesn't even cover materials related to psychology - only random historical facts that he says he won't test about, which makes it a waste of time. Very dry material and tough exams with confusing questions focused on irrelevant details. Avoid if you don't have to take the class!

Poor presentation, uninteresting rote memory learning material, Professor glossed over important Psychology theories and figures in order to spend most of his time discussing religious figures.

Prof is a nice guy and can be super funny (at times). Lectures are never recorded so you HAVE to go to class to pay attention and get lecture slides and notes. I barely used the textbook and focused only on his lectures, and still got a B+ ---- It wasn't an easy class. You have to memorize literally everything, but you can do it!

the prof: nice & knowledgable, class: boring lectures & uninteresting and sometimes confusing material. but, if you memorize the slides perfectly you can get an A in this class w/o reading the textbook, he will insist that the text is imp but it's not. got an A never opened the text. 2 midterms, 1 final.. midterms were easy but the final was tricky

Zbigniew is a nice man but he really cannot teach properly. He is very monotone. In addition, there is SO much to learn and memorize that it makes it way less enjoyable to go to class, but you have to since he doesn't do recordings. You can get by, but you HAVE to memorize everything and study like mad.

He seems like such a nice person but his lectures are very unstructured and unclear, making him one of the worst psychology professors I have had at McGill. As a person he seems great but as a professor not so much.

Amazing prof, really wants you to pass and have a good time! Says himself history can be boring sometimes, but he did his best to make it fun and it worked! I still remember a lot of stuff, he made it stick by making jokes that help you remember what you need to learn! Would take again!

The most caring & adorable prof ever 3. The lectures can be slightly boring unless you like history, but he is so funny so that hepls! The tests are fairly easy if you study the lecture slides, Got an A and didnt open the text once. Even though it doesnt seem like a psych course youll learn a lot you don't usually get exposed to in psych!!

Avoid at all costs! Very boring, long-winded lectures, hard to stay awake. Insists on going through boring biographical details about historical figures instead of spending time explaining important theories.

Course covers a lot of material and doesn't really relate to psychology. Think of it as a history of philosophy and religion since the beginning of civilization. Exam based on mostly trivial facts of religious figures and philosophers. Contrary to others, I found no overlap with other psyc courses in McGill (which are mostly neuro)

Worst class ever. Boring Professor. You basically have to learn the material by yourself since nothing he says in class is relevant. And the material is so awfully organized.

A significant amount of material was covered during the course. We learned a lot in terms of psychology but also general history. It really helps to put things in perspective. Exams were challenging. Unfortunately prof Pleszewski is retiring so you will not have a chance to go through this great learning experience.
