Comment:
Really a bad teacher, office hours need appointment, hard exams, only give "yes" or "no" answer in piazza. Don't know why she could still be a 4-level instructor, the worst teacher I have ever met.

She's a solid lecturer and speaks very clearly, but her homework assignments will consume your life. The average on her CIS425 final was a 43% - I cannot believe she is allowed to continue structuring her class with this setup.

Comment:
Dr. Ariola genuinely puts in effort to this class. She's a decent lecturer, but unfortunately the course material itself is awfully tough and incomprehensible. I'm expectinghoping for a massive curve in the end though, so there's that.

Speaks clearly and slowly despite her thick Italian accent. Very helpful in office hours. Not very active on message board.

Comment:
Heavy accent, hard to understand, boring. Material was hard which is alright for a theory course, but some programming assignments seemed too difficult...good news is that you don't have to worry about them if you're good at exams (75% of grade!). Exams are not difficult if you know the "core" stuff and what types of questions she might ask.

Very hard to understand, can't explain concepts more than one way, supplies hershey's kisses to keep you interested in lectures, which are extremely boring.

Also, no an easy class. However, this is an under pinning computer science class.

Difficult material. However, this is a graduate theory course. Get in or get out. She is fair and always willing to work with students who actually demonstrate an interest in learning the material.

Hard to understand and doesn't explain things any better the second time around. Exams are extremely difficult, and assignments seem to have nothing to do with the textbook or material taught in class.

She is very intense. Her accent makes it hard to understand her lectures. Midterms and Final are very difficult.
