I love Ian so much! He is by far my favorite professor! He is funny, caring and so down to earth. If I could I would be in his class every semester. I 100% recommend getting him for debate, you won't regret it!!

I can't say enough positive things about Prof. Lising! I'm someone who gets a lot of anxiety with public speaking, but he made the class so enjoyable and welcoming that I actually looked forward to debating. Take him! He's so nice and such a brilliant guy, we were always so amazed at his debate skill.

Ian is AMAZING! Out of my four years at ULV, I've never met a passionate, caring, knowledgable professor as him. I've taken three of his classes and want to take more. You learn a lot in his classes, get inspired by his words and humor. He really has a beautiful soul and can't thank him enough for everything. There needs to be more people like him!

Amazing teacher, but even better as a mentor. He also was there for me to give me advice about work, relationships, school, family. He would answer my emails at 2am, he would go to school in a wheelchair even if he had gout, he would bring his kid with him just so he could help me prep for an interview even if I wasn't his student no more. GODSEND!

He's really nice and extremely helpful. If you ask him any question, he tries his best to answer it. The only bad thing is when his gout gets to him and sometimes has to cancel class. You actually get sad that class was canceled because of how fun he makes debate be.

Lising is the best professor that I have had so far. I felt happy to walk into a class were the professor was so interested in his subject. Phenomenal debater, and truly caring person. He even checks up on you when he's sees you around campus. All around great educator and person.

He really loves to debate and he most certainly molded the debate sphere globally. He'll teach you to be an excellent speaker based on your own natural talents and help you improve. You do have to debate extensively in this class, which might be intimidating at first, but he never bases your grade on your ranking. He's also very friendly.

Take Him. easily one of the best if not the best prof. at la verne. made public speaking manageable and helps you conquer your fears. take it with a friend and it will be a blast. everyone should take Ian for a class before they graduate. great prof. and great guy. Very highly recommended.

He is very laid back. His teaching techniques are really helpful, I hate public speaking, but Ian really helped. The class consists of 5 topic discussions that you give from your seat, 1 group project, and one final project, and a reflection paper. Just show up to class, participate in the discussion and do your projects (they are easy) EASY A!

Best teacher I have had so far. Participate in the class discussions, show up to class and you'll pass for sure. But the best part is you will actually learn something useful for your life, unlike some of the other GE class this one is awesome. Ian is an awesome teacher, never to busy to help.
