He is the worst professor I've taken at UH. He doesn't seem to care whether students get the material and he's not helpful. He doesn't even make his own powerpoints most of the time and he's given us the incorrect answer many times. Do yourself a favor and take Physics at community college or at least with another professor. I regret not doing so.

Participation is mandatory-extra pts for correct answer (clicker Qs). He goes over the material very fast so be ready to study on your own. The power points are not reliable and he doesn't fix them after lecture. I recommend attending the recitation classes, they help a lot. Tests are not that tough, final replaces lowest grade. Form a study group!

So, where can I start? This class was a waste of time and money. Please do yourself a huge favor and take physics at a community college. Taking his class will mess up your GPA. He doesn't teach physics. He rushes through lectures talks and jokes 80% of the time. There is no curve and he is never involved as a professor should be.

He does not teach properly. He speeds through his lectures. There is never a way to get in contact with him. Also there is no curve and the average on his exams are 50's. Good luck if you take him.

I've seen test from other Physics 1301 profs. And his are the hardest. He does not give enough practice problems and the MP physics problems are too hard to use as practice for the test. Do your GPA a favor and take someone else. He does NOT curve. Do not destroy your gpa with his class!!!

Funny lectures sometimes but goes off topic too much. The material is introductory but he cannot teach it well for students who are new to physics. Tests aren't hard but will deduct points for minor mistakes on MC test. Textbook has many errors and makes it harder to learn. Unhelpful professor and doesn't answer emails. Learn from the homework.

He seems to be a good person and has a great personality. The problem is he's so smart and insanely educated that he can't break down basic subjects properly. To him intro physics is child's play. That's fine, but for a lot of us this was our first physics class and a foreign language. I couldn't learn from him at all to do well on the tests.

Major warning: this class is not curved! His lectures are extrmeley boring, and he's not a very effective teacher. His tests are not too bad, but nothing is curved in this class. I ended up making a C because of that fact. He's a very ineffective Physics teacher, and you should avoid him at all costs.

Did not pass out grades or post them online, except for the last 2 exams. Does not respond to emails. There is no effective way of reaching him if he is not in office hours. The physics dept should NOT allow multiple choice exams. If you got the answer & messed up on the signs, you lose major points. Ineffective system.

Great guy, funny, and very helpful. You will not need the book unless you really want to get into the subject. Go to class if you want but I would recommend going because teaching yourself this stuff can be hard. Tests are based off the homework and he gives the answers to them. HW is completion grade just answer all of them.

awesome professor. Speaks clearly with everyone and cracks jokes from time to time. You really learn alot from him and he's always open to questions. I only wish he would teach other physics courses cause this guy would be a blast to learn complicated stuff from.

great prof. really smart guy and makes class fun with his great sense of humour and wit. do the homework (completion grade) and tests are multiple choice and off of the hw. extremely helpful if you ask. even if you do terribly on the first test, show improvement on the next tests and he'll help you out. too bad he doesnt teach intro to physics

I took this professor for Astronomy. I got more than I wanted. The class didnt seem bad at all, I really liked the teacher, but after a month into the semester he went MIA and we had a sub for almost 2 months. The substitue had a russian accent, very hard to understand and made the class extremely difficult and boring. Had to drop because of it

This guy is so smart. 7 completion homeworks. Watch out for the first test; its way more difficult than the others so don't be discouraged i made a 56 on the first exam and made an A - in the class. The teacher is very helpful!

Great class! The professor knows what he is talking about. The class is very easy if you go to class and pat attention. Those who failed are the ones who never showed up for lectures.Test are about 90% from the HW. If you are looking for an easy science credit this is one! One of the best Professors at UH
