Comment:

This is a hard class if taking online but this professor is there when you need him for hepl. His office hours are great because he really breaks it down and makes sure you get it. Overall there is a lot of help that you get in taking this course but you really have to be on top of it and study.

Comment:

Awesome professor, he's dedicated to his work in helping students succeed. He's really good at explaining HW I would totally take his class again and any class he may have available. Im beyond grateful to have him as my professor. He is so helful and replies back within 24 hours. I could not have passed this class without him and all his support.

This was a pretty standard online accounting class. Theres hw due each week, quizzes, tests and, SLO's. He posts videos for challenging problems online which is really helpful! If I had to take this class again I would do it in person bc I think I would have gotten more out of it, but thats not on him just a recommendation to other students.

Great Online class. All online work done on MyLab Accounting, Weekly homework, 3 discussions boards, 6 Quizes, 2 Midterms, 2 SLO Assignments + Final. Homework has options to choose "Help me solve", on homework which hepls a lot, with steps and explanation.

I took this class online and it was rough. You really need to dedicate time and energy to this class. I took this class over the summer for a 6-week course and it flew. I would recommend taking this class with this teacher because you will get the most support but that doesn't mean you can slack off. You can still fail if you miss too many things

This teacher really knows what he is teaching, and has the rare ability to help students understand accounting and tax codes. I took him last semester for Acct 116A, and now again w 2 online tax classes. Great lectures as well as giving us step by step videos on how to do the problems. If you do an on-campus class sit with a good group-group quizzes

If you take him online it's a really easy A because you can look up basically all the answers. Accounting is a really hard subject from what I've heard but taking it online was an easy A. I would highly recommend if you just want an easy A and don't really care about learning, but you still do learn a little bit from all the HW.

Viersen was a good choice for ACCT116A. Just be aware his lectures are confusing due to his writing. He's an easy grader though so you can get an A.

Homework and tests are online, quizzes are both in class and sometimes online, go to class cause you're gonna need to, lectures are long, he tries to make it easy but the tests are gonna be really tough so study and know the material, there are two slos (student learning outcomes) quizzes, know your formulas, don't skip class

I'm not a good student & bad at mathaccounting, passed with a C. HW & short answer test online. Quizzes and multiple choice test in class. HW took about an hour-3 hrs per assignment. Group quizzes w ppl you sit next to. I got a good group & got 90-100% on quizzes, 60-69% on tests, missed two HW assignments & still got a C. I recommend taking him

Great teacher, the homework, quizzes, and test are online, its time consuming. Homework is easy, quizzes and test are more on the difficult side. Not much of the textbook was used. You better show up or you will definitely not pass.

Comment:

Makes mistakes occasionally but it's obvious he understands what he's teaching. However, he has trouble explaining to students with no prior accounting experience. He always seems to be busy with things outside of class so he's not the most helpful teacher but overall he's decent. The quizzes are in groups Get 100% on homework and you'll pass!

Class was easy. Assignments were pretty easy... having said that i still got a B. My first assignment was pretty bad. Teacher is pretty clear. Never really had any communication with him. Good class. No complaints.

One of the worst experiences I have had in a business classroom. No clarity on any "group assignments" he would give. Left the class early numerous times while class was still working on an activity. Homework was tolerable, tests were awful. Wish I took a different professor.

Overall this class was alright. Easy B but if you want an A you have to work hard. Multiple choice questions were tricky. HW and discussions easy. Accounting is a hard subject but I recommend that you take it online with Viersen

Took it online and it was an EASY A. Actually read the text - HW and exams came straight from textbook examples. Gave us extension to take a quiz we missed and extra credit. Discussion questions helped facilitate accounting intuition. No final, just 4 exams. Helped us cut costs with cheaper textbook alternative.

awful instructor to take online! extremely tricky unfamiliar quiz/test questions. Non existent instructor. test are 2 sections 2.5 hours for one part, 3 hours for the other. Homework makes sense, test/quizzes seem very different. I would recommend a different instructor or maybe he's better on campus.
