I love Dr. Simonson! She is a wonderful teacher who makes every lecture so interesting. She is also extremely helpful during class as well as after and will always give clear answers to questions. She is also a very nice person in general.

Comment:

She is a very nice lady and very approachable. She gives great lectures that are descriptive and interesting. She can sometimes add a little humor to her lectures too. Overall, I believe she's a good teacher. Midterms aren't too hard. You just have to study and to the study guides she gives you. Btw, you will need the book.

Comment:

She was nice, I found that after I figured out her tests I didn't go as often. Only used the book for the group project which was a simple chapter summary powerpoint. She gives you a study guide with 50 possible slides, uses 10, 25 terms, answer 4 a map with 5 locations and then two unknown slides you need to place. I made flash cards and did fine.

I found this class completely useless. She taught the artists that she liked and did not talk about the technical aspects of the work but expected you to know it on a test. Very Frustrating!

She is a very good professor. You do have to study, but tests are easy. Reading logs are hard, but ask her to give specific questions on chapters. If you fall behind, you can negotiate to turn in your stuff later. Her study guides guarantee 100% as long as you prepare. A She's nice and pleasant person too.

ARGH I took this class based on the ratings on here and boy do I regret it. I struggled to attend class for the excredit and it didnt work. The class is horribly boring. Reading logs are unneccesary and long. The museum paper was graded really hard by her assistant. Gives out 100 terms before the quizzes but only quizzes about 20 of those terms

great teacher + very friendly, fair grading; there will be times when class starts to slack off and not coming to class and she gives credit for those that still attending class regularly. readings logs and papers are easy as long as you don't wait till the last day to do it. tests are easy as well, as long as u put effort in studying

Accepts late work, provides a study guide detailing what to know for the exam, and I think she grades easy on written work. She requires reading logs for chapters, which are really boring to do, but not difficult. Grade is based on reading logs, two exams, and a museum paper. She gives extra credit for attendance if many people don't come to class.

A bit loopie + constantly late, but this is what makes her so easy going. History is almost fun ... almost. Will accept late work. Some days will give extra credit just for being in class. Midterm + final are based on a limited # of slides and vocab. Museum paper was extra credit for us.

really easy. take her! all she did was lecture on slides from book then give quiz that includes, date, location, waht it is, and time period. meusuem paper is easy, hard part is actaully going to meusuem, if ur not lazy. finals r same as quizzes.
