Comment:

Out of my 4 years here this is the hardest class i've taken. She is a very nice lady, but her lectures are boring and the exams are Hell. She gives a lot of extra credit and that's how i passed. If you take her DON'T CHOOSE THE RESEARCH PAPER! This is one of those classes where the exams are 20% lecture and 80% based on the book.

Extremely confusing & unorganized & boring lectures. She spent most of the class going over the study guide but never actually taught the information on the study guide. I taught myself everything on my own. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Kept pushing back the midterm and didn't give it until a month before the end of the semester.

She's so confusing I think she even confuses herself.She really does go off topic a lot and waits until the last minute to actually lecture and her lectures don't really help. you have to teach yourself and the exams are written and she's very pick about how she wants things done but is not good at giving clear directions. Take her at your own risk

she is very energetic about teaching her class. do not take her if your just trying to get through this semester . you will need to spend all hours just trying to finish reading the pages she gives you for hw . she goes off topic for an hr and a half and decides to teach the last thirty minutes. be prepared for an annoying research paper. horrible!

I have to loosley agree with most of the negatives, however, she does care. It's a rigorous class, you are expected to study... at home, and be prepared before class. It's political science, what do you really expect.

A useless and condescending professor. Spends an hour of each class talking about irrelevant things and then spends about 20 mins on actual material. One of our exams was ten essays, 2-3 pages, with the questions released two days before they were due in class. She's a waste of the school's money and the students' time. Stay away at all costs.

Late, absent, and does not use the textbook. Goes off topic. Extremely boring. Extremely strict. If you want to get a passing grade, you have to teach yourself because she won't. One of my least favorite teachers I have ever had in my entire life. She is nice lady, but I think it's about time she retired.

With much better professors teaching here such as Savoie that clearly teach the subject and don't overload you with work there is no real reason to take this class. Over half the class will either drop out or fail. I have no idea why the school keeps her and gives her so many classes. Even if this is the only open class left do not take her.

She is VERY unorganized. I took her class that meets only once a week. All chapter exams are online, and she does not even announce when tests will be during class. You have to constantly check for dates online. If you are going to take this teacher, make sure you keep up with everything. She does offer extra credit. A lot of little assignments tha

Two words: self teaching. She spent the first three weeks of the class talking about the same thing. She only lectured about 45 minutes of the material in those three weeks and decided to completely skip chapter one. She has you do exams online because she's too lazy and you have to learn from the real material from the book. No respect for her.

Wonderful human being; has too much going on being a teacher negotiator to fulfill her responsibilities to her students. Mired in the budget cut process, she is obviously too bitter to be the awesome teacher she could be. I still got an A, but I could've taught myself. In fact, we did, w/ the book...because her lectures were all powerpoint. Boring!

Anyone who can't pass this class is just lazy. Seriously, all you do is print up the PowerPoint outline, fill it in from the book and her lectures, and know it on test day. Some of the tests were take-home essays and there's LOTS of extra credit. She's very compassionate and funny. Only take the class if you're willing to do the work.

Very book oriented, The inclass lectures are vague to the point where it doesn't help. Too many assignments going on at once. Many aabsences throughout the semester and changed assignments after most of the class had already finished doing it.

Very vague when lecturing, confused about using technology and spends 20 minutes TRYING to get it to work, was absent for 2 weeks this semester, but overall if you read the book (6 chapters every exam, around 40 pages a week, seriously.) you'll do fine. DO NOT LAG IN THIS CLASS.Hard teacher but if you REALLY study the material you should do fine...

I took Prof Joseph's Constitution, Law, and Society class several years ago. Since then I've started law school and I've learned that she taught many things that were factually wrong (ie what the Supreme Court has held). The class itself was a terrible experience as it was unfocused and subject to her mood/attendance. Avoid this Prof if you can!
