Comment:
He goes off on wild tangents, but they are always hilarious and take time away from lecture. The lecture does not add much to the reading. You often get out early. You can tell he is super intelligent and he's very nice. He can be intimidating in class, though, making you stand when you speak and sometimes will come right up to you while you talk.

Chase is awesome. He gets teaches you exactly what you need to know without beating around the bush. Very entertaining and intelligent. Final exam is really difficult. Go to class, take good notes, and you will do fine. He does cancel a lot of classes but manages to teach you everything you need to know.

Comment:
Seriously, Chase is the worst. His grading seems arbitrary and his lectures leave you more confused when you leave than when you came in. Do not expect clear explanations of black-letter law. The final was a complete joke and almost unrelated to what was covered in class. Avoid at all cost!

Contracts is definitely a useful class. Professor Chase brought great speakers to the class, but he also cancelled quite a few classes. The exam was not a great representation of the coursework / based off of the textbook.

If I had to describe Prof.Chase in one word it would be REAL--practical and down-to-earth; it might be from his business background. He also cares a lot about his students but be forewarned, he is very busy so it might be difficult catching him outside office hours. Still makes you stand when you're answering his questions. Most interesting class

Took Chase for Contracts. Horrible class, he did not show up for nearly half the classes. When he did show up he spent half the class talking about Obama (I am a fan but I didn't pay to hear about him) Then gave a test that he obviously did not write (most likely bar questions). Sorry if you are forced to take him.

Took him for contracts. He is a wonderful professor. He will lead you in the right direction, but he's not into spoon feeding. If you are the type of person that needs alot of guidance, then he is not for you.

He's a decent professor, makes you think and gets a discussion going. He's more of a MBA type in that he won't tell you the black letter law and will explore many avenues to get to the desired result. Nightmare closed book final of 170ish multiple choice questions for my class. I hear he gives essay exams these days but they're still closed book.

Prof. Chase is a sharp cat. I liked the class more and more as the semester progressed. He makes you stand when you speak, which seems unnecessarily Harvard-ish, but he seems to care for his students a great deal, so I guess it's not so bad. He tends to be very vague with answers to questions, but I guess that's to be expected in law school.
