Baban is a nice guy but is very confused when it comes to teaching. His accent is heavy and he does not explain things well. Also, don't expect an email back quickly, I'm still waiting for him to respond for over a year now. Good luck

Baban cares a lot about economics, but has a hard time teaching it. I often had trouble understanding what he was saying due to his heavy accent. There was no homework in the class and it was only tests and pop quizzes. The concepts are hard and prepare to do a lot of studying because he makes you work hard for a good grade.

He is extremely disorganized and his lectures do not prepare you for his tests. The notes you take in his class are not descriptive or well detailed. His notes are more like a list of topics. Without the textbook and checking in with the power point slides that he does not use in class, his class will be very difficult. You'll be teaching yourself

Baban is a great professor. He makes class fun and engaging. Very good sense of humor. I'd highly recommend taking as many of your required courses as you can, with him, you won't get bored!

Comment:

Professor Hasnat is funny, intelligent, and overall a great professor. A little hard to understand, but you do get used to it! I was very successful in his class. I simply followed the textbook and typed the notes in before class and then read them through a couple times a week and made sure I understood the concepts. Great class. Take it!

Comment:

Professor Hasnat is very friendly and humorous. He can be a little hard to understand at first but you get used to it. I had him for ECN 201 and BUS 345 and for both his tests and quizzes were pretty easy. He tells you exactly what the tests and quizzes consist of and what to study and if you do that you'll do fine. I would recommend him.

Professor is one of the best at MCC! He is really smart, and tries to be funny, hes helpful and cares about students. He tells you what's going to be on the quizzes, and somewhat tells you what to look forward to on tests. He always Emails you information and reminders pertaining to class which is helpful. Material is very hard but he's a great!

He is extremely hard to understand. He grades the project extremely harsh and his tests are very challenging. I went to him many times to get additional information on what to study and every time I was told to read the textbook. The material itself is not that hard but he makes it harder than it needs to be. He seems uninterested in his own class.

One of the best human beings you can meet. He brings a different perspective to the material. Always made time for me outside of class. Sometimes hard to understand so I concentrated extra hard.

Very challenging to understand. I can't follow him so I just zone out in class and read the chapters for studying. The tests are reasonable. Grades harshly for the case study's. Didn't provide feedback to what we did wrong, just said he was sick of grading them to the entire class. For presentations, he is also pretty harsh but gives feedback.

Grades very harshly without any rubrics, so you have no idea why you have done poorly. Tests are very difficult, and does nothing to try to help you prepare for them. Never uses powerpoints or handouts, simply just talks the whole time and expects you to follow along. As an A student, even I got a C- in this class.

Horrible teacher. Very hard to understand. Doesn't use ppt or anything, he just talks the full time. He does not email back if you need help, and does not try to help you out at all. Tests are extremely hard. Assigns homework without much warning. Do not take this class with him. You will regret it.

You could probably go without the book. He is a little hard to understand, but his lectures are interesting enough to keep you awake and he uses examples that are easy to remember for the tests. If you attend class and just listen and stay awake you will pass the class. No outside homework, only one project/paper that is pretty simple and easy.

Great guy, certainly recommend. Hard to understand, but if you read the book i guarantee you will do great on everything. Helpful outside of class and understandable of absent conditions. Nice and has a good sense of humor.

Baban is one of the best professors in the dept. He grades the debate project pretty tough but if you go see him and ask him for suggestions he will help. Gives chapter outlines that follow the book. Had this as an 8am class and it was still one of my favs. That says a lot about him right there. Funny. Fair. Awesome.

I enjoy his class. He is a nice guy. He is no stand-up but he will make you laugh. His tests are fair and he asks students what format they like and will change it for them if people have problems. He truly cares about his students. There are chapter outlines and you really dont have to go to class because you can just use the book to study.

Comment:

Baban is a nice guy and pretty good professor but his class is pretty difficult. Get ready to hear and love the phrase "what you call". Although the class was challenging, I'd recommend him to others. He doesn't curve, fyi!
