Took MTH170 Spring 2019. First Online math class, and I must say... I wish I took all my math classes online! More resources and examples on the Pearson website than I feel like you would get in class. Being able to work at your own pace is a MUST! Especially with Math! Baher was great at responding to emails. Clear grading - 8 Homeworks, 8 Tests.

I took this class online and overall had a great experience. The grading policy is very clear, he responds to emails very quickly, and really tries to help his students.

I feel as though a lot of these reviews are unfair to Professor Hanna, as math is a very difficult subject to take online. However, taken in class, Professor Hanna is quite a character. He has many "dad" jokes in his arsenal and it's a lot of lecture with a small break in between. He goes very in depth though and is very helpful if you need it!

Although he may be a good professor in person, I would not recommend taking the online class. If you do take it, get ready to work. Textbook was generally not useful either.

This was an online class, so I didn't really communicate much with him. There are 8 tests and 8 homework assignments total, with tests usually being worth more than the homework. I would probably recommend taking this class in person if you struggled with math in the past, because you're going to be on your own otherwise.

Really nice. Replied to emails promptly. 8 tests and 8 homework assignments. Tests were generally worth more than homework. Homework was only 30 points altogether. I didn't really use the book. I simply printed off the example questions and studied from those.

Baher hanna is really nice and polite instructor, his class is not easy, you have to work HARD for it, his exams are not easy, he give you 7 questions and he drops the lowest one. if you wanna work HARD and learn then take him. if not don't even think about it because you gonna FAIL.

Baher Hanna is one of the best online instructors (and I have taken tons of online classes). He responds to e-mails quickly, is very polite, and answered my questions thoroughly. The book is fairly poor and I alerted him to mistakes with some answers. It isn't necessary to use it, but a few chapters need some study. I'd take a class with him again.

Baher was a great teacher! Whenever someone did not understand a procedure, he would break it down in a different way and made sure the student understood. He was very fair about homework and flexible.

Baher is exceptional. I had him for calc 1 and 2. He adjusts the syllabus according to the needs of the students and would rather his students completely understand half the material than part of all the material. He has a quirky sense of humor and is a joy to listen to. No homework, all quizzes and tests. Gives students the benefit of the doubt and individually curves. If I could I'd take him for the rest of my math and physics classes.

Tests are not very easy at all, most of the examples done in class are much simpler than those on tests. Tests are short, which is kind of a disadvantage because if you miss a whole problem it drops your grade substantially. He is big on partial credit though and makes 1 curve to grades at the end of the semester. Most students struggle through.

Great instructor. Knows the material better than anyone I've ever heard of. Does many examples which help with studying, which is very necessary, because his tests are very hard, though passable.

Excellent instructor. Knows the material like the back of his hand. Does lots of examples, and test questions are very similar to those. Homework is online, unfortunately utilizing WileyPlus, which is terrible. Answers any and all questions, and encourages class participation.

I had him for MTH 096, I had a really hard time in this class. I had a hard time understanding, but it might have just been me. I'm using to being taught with a different type of teaching style, so I just don't think we clicked together. I think he is a good teacher though, and he explains things thoroughly. Although the tests are hard. Its college

If you only have to take PHY221 or 222 then taking Baher may be a deal. Our syllabus said we need to cover 17 chapters but we only covered 12! OK if you never take physics again but a nightmare if you want to take anything beyond 221 and god forbid you have to transfer to another school where you will be chapters behind! Very tough but passable.

I had Mr. Hanna for Math 110 and found him to be very explanatory and helpful. I'm not very good at math anyways but he did everything he could to help all of the students pass the class with a good grade. He's a good instructor and a very nice person.
