Comment:

Despite being enthusiastic the class is repetitive and dry. At C-Bus State I have only had 2 major issues with a professor before, and she is one of them. Her grading is way off and one of the times I spoke to her about it she dropped my grade lower. I am paid to write normally as a job and she made me think my career is a fluke. Take someone else.

I was excited to be taking an English course because it was the class I excelled in all throughout high school. But professor Thompson killed those hopes for me, the assignments were boring and repetitive and she didn't do more than sit at her desk and read off assignments and essays from the norton reader, I didn't learn anything in her class.

I took both of Prof. Thompson's US lit courses - 2290 and 2291. Yeah, she's old-school and expects you to actually read everything on the syllabus, but she was also fair to everyone and gave additional time for some of the bigger projects. People who perform poorly in her courses only have themselves to blame. Easy A if you show up and do the work.

Boring. Journals about readings from the book. Reactions about readings too. One day she had us peer review while she reviewed our papers (She doesn't take up or grade peer review). So our whole class sat on their computers waiting for her revisions. And she doesn't know how technology works apparently.

She can't use modern technology, the course is outdated, and she grades on very subjective rubrics. She reviewed our knowledge of APA and MLA, but that's when classes ended. She would get upset when you didn't attend class, but when we did she just gave us "class time" to work. Not recommended.

Great professor! I liked her class, relatively simple and easy. A lot of writing in class, not so much out of class. She's straight forward, and very helpful. Stay on her good side though. She likes students that are really involved. Then you'll pass with flying colors. Take her, her class it's fun and clear.

I hate writing, but still got an A in this class. Some essays and journals, but nothing too difficult if you put some time into it. Only thing I didn't like was being assigned an essay on Mon and having 1st draft due Wed. (not to be graded-just to help with content & grammar) Followed the syllabus and graded fairly. Helped me improve my writing.

she is very nice and chummy. she does have a lot of requirements for her 4 essays though. a lot of internet research. this class will consume a lot of your time, but it isn't too hard. i was very pleased to have her for my professor. she even made her homemade cookies for us the last day of school :) she is a very kind lady.

The semester is almost over and I'm glad I ended up with this professor! If you enjoy writing it's an easy class. Workload isn't too bad..some reading,4 essays and 5 journals. You have to write essays fairly quickly though...4-5 days. She is personable and always willing to help, esp if you make it a point to stop by during her office hours!

Normally I like writing essays. She expects them to be done in 2 days and compleately comprehensible. The topics are rediculous and have no bearing in everyday life. Even though she claims that this is not an online class or a corespoindace class you are responsible for getting all of your handouts and materials online yourself.

nice teacher. loves her job has been teaching for mannnny years at columbus state. 4 papers and some journal entries. if writing is your strength you will do fine in this class.i went through person problems, missed ALOT of class and still managed to pass with almost an a minus average.easy to get overwhelmed at times.only had 5 people in my class!

Prof. Thompson is a good teacher and you can tell she really loves jer job. She is helpful and her assignments aren't very hard. There is a lot of out of class reading necessary and a paper due almost every class. But besides that, she is pretty easy.

For being a combo of engl 101&102, the class was fairly easy. A nice teacher, but semi-boring & often messed up the syllabus & paper requirements as well. Be prepared for a lot of out-of-class work & to start new papers while still working on others.

a nice teacher but grades her papers like she is an AP science teacher! she acts nice but screws you on your grades. very unattractive and boring to listen to
