I have taken many physics classes before and this was the worst teacher I have ever had. She was very rude if you asked questions, her quizzes and exams were extrememly hard and she didn't take into consideration that people work and have other courses. Very unclear about material. I tried working with her and no success. Take another teacher

Comment:

Physics is a hard subject, this class is hard and she grades hard, but she's a great teacher. She will help you whenever she can and she knows the subject. If you put in the time and effort, you will do fine. TBA's are really helpful and quizzes are huge grade boosters.

PHYS 260 is a VERY hard class and Uchida is a very hard grader but you will learn a lot if you put in the work. It's a lot of HW and TBA/HBA. The quiz questions are harder than the test but they come from the HW assignments so DO them. (there were 0 A's in my class...)

Extremely hard teacher. Uses a lot of technical terms and doesnt put things into a simpler form to understand. she purposely sets you up for failure just so she can tell you your wrong. She isnt clear on what she is looking for and will get frustrated if you dont get it the first time. She knows the material, but teaching methods need to be better

Phys 150: TAKE THIS CLASS! She will prep you for your next class. When I first got in, the class was super easy for me and I regretted taking it. Now that I am in 210, my new professor can't teach anywhere near as well as her. Dont be intimidated by her, just do your best. Pass/fail class, but u need 75% on all tests, u fail, she let's u retest

She knows what she is talking about but is really mean and has no patients. Give a ton of homework and is an extremely harsh grader. She also is very paranoid the everyone in the class is cheating.

TERRIBLE PERSON. I really wish I could have dropped her class, but in oder to transfer on time I had to bare the ENTIRE class. She is mean and makes the class way hard than it needs to be. STAY AWAY!

After spending a few classes with her I can see where all the bad ratings came from. She is very abrasive to students who may not be the smartest but still want to learn; her outlook seems to be that these students who need more help waste her time. She consistently talks down to the less talented students and has an overall nasty sense about her.

she certainly cares that you learn. And you will, but you sort of sacrifice your grade. I felt like I spent so much doing lab reports and homework and making sure that they were perfect to actually have time to understand the material. Not always helpful with questions.

I also took all 3 (250,260,270) sections of physics with Ms.Uchida. They were the hardest 3 classes of my life but definitely worth it. You'll really learn physics. Her class is tough, she?s always there to help you during office hours. If you're a hard worker and serious about learning, take her class. You won't regret it. She's a great teacher.

Took all three sections w/her (250, 260, 270). She is NOT easy--there is lots of work and she is relentless. But I learned more in her class than I would anywhere else--I have an advantage over other transfer students bc I LEARNED something her class. There is homework, reading, tests, labs due everyday--do the work, keep up, and you'll be fine!

She was ok. She allowed you to turn in late work, but it seemed that class became more focused on homework than actually doing anything interesting. Hadn't taken a math class in awile and we started off full blast with gigantic algebra probs. ***Take her right after taking a math class, dont get behind.

Uchida is a great teacher; she's well aquianted with the material and expects the same of her students. Expect a lot of homework, a small class, and harsh precise grading. If you are willing to work hard and dedicate a lot of time to studying for this class, take her and you will do well. If not, you are probably better off going to another campus.

Horrible teacher,she may know her stuff but she clearly does not know how to explain it to the students. When presenting the material all she does is prattle from the book, not a good teaching method. When trying to ask her for more help her attitude is very condescending and very discouraging. Worse teacher I've taken yet.
