Great teacher and an interesting guy. Unfortunately, while abroad he got sick and passed away in early 2009. Very sad. Rest in peace, Bill.

Comment:
Bill is a great example of a egotistical, self-important academic who has no real-world experience and little to provide to his graduate students. He always expounds the need for "authenticity", but comes off as remarkably fake and condescending. MBA200 is a required course for MBAs, but is an embarrassing example of how not to teach a course.

Bill is a great guy. Class is pretty laid back, you give 4 speeches (one twice) and that's about it. Helped sharpen my public speaking skills some, although I would've liked a little more time in the spotlight. Sections were very small (intimate) and the GSIs were awesome. Go to section, make an honest effort, and an A is a slam dunk.

he is really accessible outside of class. he tries to help you better your public speaking by providing you with relevant materials and by class demonstrations. great guy overall. his class is a bit easy and maybe too relaxed but not necc a bad thing.

not too much work relative to how much u learn. make sure you do well on the first speech, or at least try. felt like an mba caliber course. is a caring teacher. makes classroom friendly and supportive. bring tootsie rolls to class for him. good class, and would not be suprised if this class becomes the most useful class after graduating from cal.

Not the most difficult BA100 prof but not a great teacher. This class is basically a test of your already-acquired public speaking skills. Never taught me how to publicly speak, nor write a business letter. And made students nervous by comparing clsses

Had him for public speaking in UC Extension. Great professor, genuinely cares about his students and encourages you to improve. If you can take one of his communication classes, do so before you leave cal, will learn worlds.
