Comment:

Prof Solheim is the best professor I've taken at Citrus College so far. He really loves history and it reflects on his lectures. Homework is very easy and tests and exams are easy too. Extra credit that is easy points if you're willing to read extra and do some writing. He cares about his students and is a genuine nice and interesting guy.

Comment:

Dr. Solheim is simply a down-to-earth person. He is very passionate about his work that he even wrote his own textbook. His lectures are interesting and makes learning history quite enjoyable. He gives out weekly quizzes online that are very easy. Work load is simply just reading and occasionally writing film reviews. I recommend taking this class.

Comment:

I took Dr. Solheim for fall 2019 Theres a 10 qs multiple choice quiz due every Sunday for that weeks. 1 multiple choice midterm that covers from chapter 1-7 and 1 in class written final. Dr. Solheim is very passionate about history, cares for his students giving more than enough extra credit to pass his class. Take his class before he retires!!

Comment:

Easy A. If you really want to learn this class may not be for you. Solheim is a chill and laidback professor but his lectures are not very engaging. History is awesome, but this class makes it boring. However, it is very easy which is helpful if you're juggling other classes, so for me, it gets a 5.0. Online quizzes, online midterm, and two essays.

After taking this class I have grown to appreciate history even more. This was one of the funnest online classes I've had. I also enjoyed learning about his personal experiences tied into history. I recommend him to anyone that is interested in a great history class while also not having too heavy of a work load!

Comment:

Solheim is awesome. He explains history so anyone can learn & understand its significance. He genuinely cares about teaching his classes. Workload is manageable, organized well & evenly spaced out. Responds to emails & most of what you'll need will be in the material he assigns. He makes everything relatable & easy to comprehend.

I was in Professor Solheim's very last History of the Vietnam War class and it was an incredible experience. His care and attachment to the subject with his personal history is tangible, and his textbooks (good price) are written by himself and are a really well-organized and "easy" read in that it wasn't droll. He's accomplished and really cool.

He is super easy!! I would recommend him to anyone who is trying to pass History. There were a quiz or two a week. The answers were online. One midterm multiple choice and final written paper. Passed with an A.

I took his course in the summer and it was the easiest class I have taken. Speak up every once in a while and do your work and you should be fine.

You need the book or you won't pass. 3 Discussion boards, 12 quizzes, 2 film reviews (3-4pgs long), 1 compare and contrast paper (5-7pgs long), the midterm was mostly out of the book, the final is an essay. This class is very doable, but I feel like he is a tough grader. Overall, I enjoyed this class because you can get ahead on your work.

Best professor I've ever taken. I love his approach to history especially as a veteran. History is my least favorite subject but he makes me enjoy it. Straight to the point lectures. Class environment very friendly, had a real lockdown on campus, let me tell you I trust this guy with my life literally! Cares more about students than anything else!

SERIOUSLY THE BEST HISTORY PROF I'VE EVER HAD. I hate history, but because of him I learned to love the subject. His lectures are so amazing and he incorporates his personal experiences to it. He always inspires and encourages his students. Take him before he retires, you'll never regret it!

Dr. Solheim was an amazing Professor and I really enjoyed his class. I would honestly really recommend this class to everyone. He's supper accessible outside of class and gives amazing advice!

If you did all assignment, you can get A easily. He has some quizzes, it only come from textbook and you can take quizzes in home. He has some group project that so easy. You don't have to be worried about his class

Professor Solheim is the best history teacher, his lectures are interesting and his book is interesting as well. He put his own personal experience into the book her wrote and he talks about his personal experiences in class lecture as well.

I took his class online during spring, and it was a fast track class. Discussions were due each week, multiple quizzes due each week, and three papers due throughout the course. Everything was straight forward, but it was way too much reading and to me how he graded was not very clear. One discus. I didn't get full points and he would not tell me ?

Very chill, just make sure you go to the glasses that have the group presentations (theyre based off of his book, super easy) do the quizzes every week, he prepared you for the easy final, and the two projects are really easy too. Very kind and caring too, and he has some very interesting stories, that actually help you with learning the material.
