Comment:

He's very nice but not a good teacher. I've caught him stating completely inaccurate information several times - aka he doesn't know what he's talking about. He also completely skips over climate change sections - if you're into that take another teacher. Attendance definitely not necessary though. Just get the study guide and read your book.

Bruce really wants all of his students to pass. I went to all the lectures but you really only need to show up for the exams. In lectures he mostly tells stories. He is one of the nicest people I've ever met, but doesn't explain concepts well. Just do the study guide he hands out, and do the project, and there is no way you can get lower than a C.

I took this course at Mira Costa.He has stories that are somewhat related to the topic covered. He related with students and incorporated them into the lecture. This was a Cultural Geography class which seemed very interesting, but the lectures get boring fast. The textbook material is what is tested on. Study guides exactly like tests, exactly.

Good professor. He does tend to tell a lot of stories, but you remember them and they tie into the material you are learning. Really nice guy. Attendance not mandatory, but I wish I had gone to class more.. interesting subject. Test out of text. Gives a study guide. Wish he would give homework to help us keep more accountable and on track.:-)

Super, super nice guy; however, if you have ADD this may not be the professor for you. He strays off the topic A LOT. Class is not mandatory (he doesn't take attendance) and basically the exams are based solely off the book, not the lectures... so you WILL need the book if you take the course. He gives a studyguide with the pg #s on it. USE IT!

St. Gean is an awesome professor! Reading is absolutely required because the vast majority of the material on the tests is not covered in class. However, he is incredibly encouraging and will always answer questions during class. I absolutely appall science courses but I got an A in this one!

he gives a studyguide for the test with page numbers next to the generalized concepts we need to memorize. alot of the page #'s on the study guide were from a past book he used also alot of the terms on the test arent on the studyguide. his lectures are irrelavent dont bother going to class. just pick up the study guide and use your text and google

The only things graded in his class are tests and a project. You really need the textbook in this class-no joke. Before each test he gives a study guide with page numbers in the text, so if you study you are sure to pass each test. The project is fun and easy; it's worth 25 % of your grade. Overall, he is an awesome professor and I recommend him.

Expect to read the entire book at home because he barely covers any of it in his lectures.. Class is disorganized and he gets off-topic on a daily basis. Tests aren't very easy- he grades on a curve because most people fail.

Mr. St Gean is a very laid-back and teacher. He tries very hard to make everything he teaches interesting with personal stories. Only about half the material covered on tests is taught in class- reading is required but not much homework other than that.

He is a very nice guy and is super passionate about what he does, but he expects you to be as passionate as him. He gets off topic quite a bit. I couldnt even force myself to go to this class. No homework, only a couple tests, and one project.

He was always off topic and expects you to teach yourself. He had to curve our class because most people failed his tests. He grades on a bell curve. He teaches 'life skills' more than geography. He uses a lot of teaching aids but they are all outdated. He's really nice but the class was a nightmare. I was always confused about the grading system.

Really Nice Teacher! Clearly loves the subject and loves teaching as well. No homework and very predictable tests with study guides. Attendance is not required and tests are from textbook primarily.Very respectful of students and open to questions and makeup exams. I would recommend this teacher to anyone! :)AAA+

Bruce is an awesome teacher. He wants everyone to pass his class, and if you have ANY questions he is there for you. He only gave us 4 tests throughout the year and a EASY project at the end of the year (its a pass or fail). He is understanding and he doesnt keep attendents!

overall, a great teacher! he likes teaching, cares about his students, and is a fair grader. Applies geography topics to real life situations which makes it interesting. Doesn't take attendance, but being in class is important so you can take notes
