Attendance needed for the notes; exams are straightforward; very accessible outside office hours; GG is the best prof and even though I'm no longer in his class I still visit him because he's a gem! Get to know him, he's got lots of crazy stories to tell

Honestly, GG is a great teacher. You can buy his lecture notes for the class which makes things easier. They call OChem a weed out for a reason. Use your time wisely, study!! Seriously, attend class. Go to SI & tutoring. Go to GGs office hours, hes very understanding & will help you. BUY old version of the book, its identical, use it!!

His style requires you to be self-sufficient & learn on your own. I learned nothing in lecture. You will finish learning nothing. Dont recommend

Tests are kind of straight forward, with a few tricky questions thrown in. Did not like his teaching ethic. GO TO SI, you will need to put in the extra time. Sometimes didn't explain certain portions of the lecture clear enough. I've had better ochem professors.

I honestly can not express how much I LOVED GG! His class is organized, just read his notes and go to the SI and you will make an A! He is available after class and genuinely cares for his students! He does not try to trick you on the exams.

I love GG. By far the best professor I've had at A&M. I had to q drop this course in the spring with a diff. teacher so I took GG over the summer and did really well. Go to his office hours and talk to him, he's very friendly and helpful. Because of him, I was able to understand Ochem and I'm so grateful to him for that. Take him if you can!

GG is such an amazing prof, I was lucky enough to have him for CHEM 227 and 228. He's the only reason I made the grades I did in Ochem. His tests are super fair and basically consist of notes and the practice exam! He gives a separate exam review -GO TO IT! He'll mention extra examples in it that are almost always on the exam. He's a great choice!

NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED. Going over JUST his notes + his practice exams resulted in the best score for me. Excellent Professor, smart and shares analogies that may seem like tangents but if you keep up with them, help you understand the concept better! Gives points back (bc his graders make mistakes) happily if you can explain yourself. Curves at end.

Honestly one of the best professors I have had at TAMU, especially for such a heavy science course. He is very fair, understanding, and encouraging. A lot of people say he doesn't help for the MCAT but I'm studying for the MCAT right now and everything he has taught us has prepared me perfectly well for the organic chemistry portion. Take him.

Great chemistry prof that uses analogies to help you understand concepts. People say he isn't great for the MCAT and that's outrageous. I was teaching my friends, who have other 'harder' profs material before their exams. Attend class, take notes, and study. I took him for Ochem 1 and 2 and I never had big difficulties with this him.

You do NOT need the textbook, everything is in the notes he gives you. His accent can be hard to understand, but I got used to it in a few days. He is easier than other professors, not because he teaches less material but because his exams are predictable. Will take again for 228.

Honestly people on here say that he won't prepare you for the MCAT. However, there really isn't a ton of ochem on the MCAT and if you study well for the tests you should know learn a solid foundation of ochem (maybe not as in depth as other professors). If you want a pretty easy A and a good GPA take GG I don't think you will regret it.

I loved Dr. GG and am very upset I did not get him for 228 next semester. His teaching style is unique and sometimes he used analogies that didn't make sense, but he was a very great teacher. Make sure to buy his lecture note pack and study that for tests. The model exams he provides are similar to the actual exam, though they are still challenging

GG was a very good professor. He uses unique examples to help you remember and genuinely cares about his students. The tests were super hard but not as much as the other professors. Organic Chemistry is just an extremely difficult class. He lectures well but in a one-on-one situation he didn't have clear answers or an effective way to explain it.

G.G. is a good teacher if you can understand his style. He uses a lot of analogies and sometimes i would get lost in them and not be able to relate it back to Ochem. His notes are what make his class easy. If you study the notes profusely, and don't flub up the final, you will make an A. But i can't guarantee that you'll learn enough for med school

I had G.G. for two my classes. I scored very high on Organic parts in MCAT. G.G. writes wonderful rec letters. Two of my interviewers for medical school showed it to me. G.G. is the best professor I had at Texas A & M university.

GG has an interesting teaching style that might not work for everyone. While GG was a wonderful professor that cared about his students, I had a difficult time relating his analogies back to the course material & I always left lectures confused. I took CHEM 228 with another professor and excelled but I had to work MUCH harder. GG is the easiest!!
