Comment:

Professor Clements was very respectable to students but this class had the MOST work I've ever done for an art history course. There were 8 (long) readings, with mini essay responses, midterm and final exams, and a final 5 page essay. To say the least, this class was hard and she made you work for it. But the professor was good at feedback.

She absolutely knows what she is talking about. You don't want to miss her class. She does have 8 reading responses, midterm, paper and final but she gives you everything that you need to complete it. All you have to do is study. You walk out of her class actually have learned on the topic.

Yes she is tough, but it's so worth it because you come out knowing so much more than you would have otherwise. Especially if you're an art history major, I highly recommend her. There are a lot of writing assignments but it aids in making you a much better student. She is incredibly intelligent and knows what she is talking about. Love this prof.

I was very interested in this subject,but she is a tough teacher...She isn't the most warm person ever.She is however smart and knows her stuff.Don't take this class if you don't want to work.

Don't do it. There are plenty of other ARTH classes to take! Her expectations with writing assignments are insane. Impossible to please her,you are marked down for the smallest writing errors. There are 10-13 short papers and one large research paper. Tests are difficult and the study guide was useless. I will NEVER take her class again.

This professor is very confusing in her grading she doesn't kno what she wants 1 writing assignments the 2 exams or the 10 reading responses. She wants you to think critically & one does yet she penalizes you for the smallest of things. Her test ar 20 matching 3 short answers on slides they're complex q's & there's lots of work for a decent grade

Dont take class if youre not willing to work. text book is a must. 10 readings due, 1 every week. following her directions for assignments doesnt match with the grade you think you would get. Its like she doesnt know what she wants. To please her with her with your writing you need to have a doctorate in English. not willing to work dont take her.

Teacher like Clements are once in a life time experience for UH students, an experience where one needs to work extremely hard to get things done, yet she will never be satisfied and wants 100% from her students.Clements has high expectations from every student. On the contrary, i bet you will learn something throughout the semester.

She stinks. Don't ever take her class. She has absolutely no idea what it is she wants from you and she confuses the life out of you. You won't learn anything because she is too darn busy giving you papers to write every darn week which leaves you very little time for your other classes and you may very well end up failing more important classes.

MOST interesting lectures - so true, but: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROF!!!! (unless) you have a graduate degree in Writing / or English for the papers---and you especially can recall EVERY detail, immediately from the entire textbook for tests.

She is suck!!!Her class is damn hard. If you think you can write a art paper very well, then you might will pass. But don't ever think of getting a good grade in her class. One sentence, Don't take her class, if not, you will cry for what a foolish thing you did.

She is a tough teacher. Very intimidating personality mainly because she has such a cold and unfriendly personality and she is very detailed. I didn't like her or her class but I learned from it. Sometimes if you are nice to her and say hi, she acts like she is too good to say hi back to you. I didn't like her as a person...OK instructor.

Clements is quality instructor. She is very articulate and interesting. I can tell she really wants the entire class to succeed and do well. I think that she manages her classroom very well. I truly learned from her in many ways and I respect her very much.

I must admit that this is the hardest class I have ever experienced at U of H. She works you HARD. I tried my best and my grade was still disappointing. She does teach with clarity and extreme organization. I do not think I will ever take another class with her again though. She isn't very student friendly in general but you will learn in her clas

You'll work VERY hard, with LOTS of reading and writing (3-4 page response papers over an article every week). 2 difficult tests, a very extensive paper, all of which she scrutinizes very carefully. But overall, you learn a lot and she pushes you to be a better student. I grudgingly recommend it.

Really well-organized and structured, requires a lot of work, but somehow very unclear. The lectures were not very engaging, and as a result, retention is low, so you don't do as well on tests. She's nice, but not very approachable if you want or need help or to discuss something.
