Go to class, it's a must. lectures are full of information you would not get by only reading the textbook. textbook readings are mandatory. She talks quiet fast so I recommend taking a laptop to lecture and taking notes that way. she is also monotone sometimes so lectures can be boring most times. But the lectures can also be very interesting.

Lectures are incredibly interesting, and Dr. Rymph is very clear and intelligent. You'll want to take very thorough notes and stay on top of readings. Copying my notes outside of class once was enough studying for me to get high As on her exams.

I was not a fan of the teaching style. She talks super fast for the entire class time, and sometimes she appeared annoyed if someone asked a question. The lectures were boring, but the material was interesting. The quizzes are easy if you did read. There's no need to read the textbook, just go to class and taking good/detailed notes is important.

Lectures were fast-moving but very informative and interesting. Rymph does a great job of connecting the material with past and present day events. The class was challenging but worth it. She gives easy quizzes over assigned books but they are worth the read and relate to class material. Awesome professor!

Really great historian, the class is tough however. Your final is worth 40% of the overall grade, and book quizzes matter a lot.

Not a lot of opportunities for grading, so quizzes matter. You have to read novels in the class, which sucks, but the material is really interesting. She has good lectures, but you can't just copy the powerpoints--you have to get the spoken information as well.

Good professor, I would recommend attending lectures but missing one or two is not a big deal. She has a lot of information and not all of it is on the powerpoints. Few grades in the class so all tests/quizzes really count! Overall enjoyed the material and Rymph's teaching

Dr. Rymph is a smart woman, but she doesn't have good teaching methods. She has a powerpoint to serve as a guide but a lot of the time it doesn't have the information that is most important on it. She lectures for the whole class period and it is hard to retain and get all the information because she throws so much at you at once.

This class was AMAZING!!! I took it as a freshman and loved it. She speaks really fast, but all of the information she gives is very interesting. You definitely have to study and know key dates, and people to do well, but this is a class WORTH taking!

The tests are hard, blue book multiple choice, short answer, essay. If a question is about lets say the cold war, then you need to know people, places, movements, etc. You have to read books and take quizzes on them, and on the quizzes the questions are details from the book. I would NOT recommend this class to anyone...only if I hated them.

She is very smart. She knows possibly everything about the last 100 years of History, but she is a very quick speaker. Have to go to class to fully understand all the notes and concepts covered each day. Tests are short answer/essay, pretty hard, so you have to study a lot. I actually learned from this class though. She's worth the challenge.

Really smart, REALLY knows her subject. She's a quick speaker, but I've never had any issue with taking notes. Her exams are mostly short answer/essay, but they aren't too difficult if you study a decent amount.

She keeps this course very balanced and manages to cover 100 years of US history effectively and objectively. Take good notes and you won't even need the textbook. She takes questions during lecture?don't be afraid to speak up if you get confused. She IS a quick speaker; her PowerPoints are generally a good guide, but don't rely on those alone.

Interesting class, but you'd better bring your laptop to class to take notes--she's quick. Keep up with your reading, go to class, make a good outline based on the test study guides and you'll pull an okay grade.
