I sought out help from this prof every week and he was always condescending and unwilling to help. This class is only good if you have a strong background in computer science - if you are a beginner wanting an introductory course this aint it sis.

Best class and best prof I've had so far in Com sci. He has very high expectation, but it is reasonable since he goes all the way to teach and help you learn. I never felt bored in his class, amazing lectures, very informative and interesting. He never curves grades even when more than half get C or under, so be prepared to work super hard!

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS UNLESS YOU ARE A COMPSCI MAJOR!!! I TOOK IT AND LITERALLY 1/2 THE CLASS DROPPED, AND THE REST FAILED THE PROJECTS!!! HE'S CONDESCENDING, AND IS NOT AFRAID TO GIVE YOU D'S!!!! DON'T DO IT, SAVE YOURSELF!!!!

Chris is one of those professors who go all out for their students. I took his intro comp sci course as a spring term senior and it was HARD. Gained so much respect for comp sci majors. The assignments were the most time-consuming projects I had in my 4 years at Union. He's there for you at office hours and I found his lectures really entertaining.

Class started off easy to understand, but by the end of the term I was in way over my head. Don't take this unless you have prior knowledge using python or are prepared to be in his office 247.

Not very helpful most of the time - he seems to believe that by only giving you hint he is motivating you to think harder but really he is just being unhelpful - took points off assignment after he okay'ed it during office hours. And that's if he ever turned the assignments back to you - he wants you to work hard but he doesn't seem to be working.

Before you take a class with this guy you should realize you will be working your ass off. When he says start the projects early he means it, you will be ****ed if you don't. Has no problem failing you or anyone else in the class. Will go over the concepts with you if you go for help but its hard to do that all the time. Not as nice as he seems.

Advanced Topics in D'base - they weren't kidding with this title. Chris put a good deal of thought into how to best explain a tough topic; however, he also expects a great deal from his students. Be prepared for time-consuming assignments and long exams! He is AMAZING in the patience he has in explaining, as his goal is to have successful students.

Extremely nice guy who is very helpful outside of class. If you need more explanation you can just go to his office and he will be more than happy to explain it until you or he is blue in the face. Tough class but worth the time. You will learn a lot!
