Comment:

Professor Miller was very creative in his approach to learning the Old Testament. The way he incorporates video and literature is fun. You will have to read the entire Old Testament, but you can audio book or app as well. The assignments are short and the quizzes are only 10 questions. Other than that theres just a check in that youve Bible read.

Great professor, he made learning about OT one of my favorite things since coming to school. He is significantly harder than the other professor however.

Dr. Miller is a great professor and I would highly recommend him for OT. His tests aren't super hard, but you definitely have to study for them or you won't pass. His note outlines are sometimes hard to follow, but he posts the lectures online so its very helpful to listen to those before each test.

Comment:

Dr. Miller is overrated. His lectures while engaging felt disjointed to me. Also, he has student graders grade your paper which means that it sometimes felt like he was out-of-touch with the class. The journals are also very annoying and are literally the definition of busy work as hard as he might try to persuade you otherwise.

Dr. Miller is a great guy and good lecturer. However, he would not always be clear about why he would be talking about something and it would not be in the notes he insisted that we printed off. He also had some very random test questions that he did not mention in class and were not directly in the bible. I like him, but he is overrated

If I had the time to audit this class every semester for the rest of my college career, I would. By far the best class I've ever taken and best prof I've ever had. 20/10 would definitely recommend. On a side note, I once saw him riding a bike on the 2nd floor of the Bible building. Don't know how he got it up there. What a man.

For this class you will have to fill out a "journable" where you have to rewrite the entire old testament and some of the new testament. This prof claims to hate busy work, but makes you read the entire old testament and write it down. THE DEFINITION OF BUSY WORK. Not a fan

I can't say enough about Dr. Miller. He goes above and beyond for his class. The lectures were outstanding. I learned more about the OT in one semester than I had in my whole life. He always stayed after class to talk to students and even got dinner with me and a group of friends one evening just to spend time with us.

Dr. Miller is a fantastic professor. I learned more each class session with him than I did the entire semester of some other classes. He always had incredible insight into the material and he really loves teaching. Dr. Miller would give us our test grades within two or three days of taking the exam, and reviewed bad questions. Take him.

Dr. Miller is one of the best professors who has ever taught me. He cares about each and every one of his students and makes a serious effort to learn and remember their names. He presents material in a funny way so it sticks in his students' memories and does his best to make sure every student in his class learns the material. His tests are fair.

Dr. Miller is shockingly good. His OT class is the best class I have ever taken. My life was changed as a result of taking this class. No exaggeration. He will challenge you academically and spiritually, and make you think about the Bible in a way that is completely different. Just go ahead and sign up.

Dr. Miller is the best!! He doesn't require you to come to class, but if you don't go you will not succeed in the class. He is very passionate about what he teaches and he does it very well. Pay attention in class and you'll do well. He truly cares about his students and is always willing to help. Best professor ever!

He makes the class super interesting and makes points that most would never see. He shows how the old testament points to Christ and what each book tells about God. He includes historical background as well which helps us understand the context of each book.

He definitely made Old Testament interesting and easier to understand. He keeps the classes attention and makes clear points while also connecting many interesting points that I never thought to make

Even though you do have to work a reasonable amount to do well in the class, this was the best class I ever took. Dr. Miller is amazing, and I would definitely take him again.

Miller is so passionate about the material that he teaches and presents it in a concise way that is easy to understand and genuinely interesting. Attendance is not mandatory and he puts all of his lectures online. However, you will want to watch those lectures. Every exam question can be found in those videos, seriously. No textbook, just OT.

Possibly my favorite professor ever. He is such a clear communicator and he really puts his heart and soul into what he's teaching. The assignments and readings and lectures are always insightful and helpful. He's hilarious and very personable. Brace yourself: he's punny.
