Comment:

Prof Dumont is a gem! I took a blended class with her (half online, half on campus) and she was great! Very organized, very caring. She once made individual appts with most of us to go over how to improve--she spent at least 45 minutes with me, answering questions, giving advice. And her assignments were very fun! (also there's no textbook)

Avoid her at all costs! I have never been disrespected by a teacher so much. She comes late to class, never handed out a syllabus, very unreasonable in her marking, scatterbrained and disorganized, doesn't stay on schedule, doesn't take the time to meet up with you if you happen to have an issue.

By far the worst class I have ever taken at York. We barely did anything related to oral French all semester. She is not helpful at all and she is very condescending. We literally did NOTHING until the last two weeks of class where she made us cram in all of the assignments and examinations. The class was unclear and extremely unorganized.

Makes criticisms but does not give suggestions or help. Does not answer questions from students. Does not show up on time for class. Assignments were useless. I learned NO French this semester, my oral has not improved. Dragged out the syllabus, wasted everyone's time. Has no sense of personal space. Speaks too fast, is not patient. Unprofessional!

Very energetic and animated, funny. Thought she was terrific during 1st few weeks. If you get on her bad side, she'll make it obvious to you. Gave conflicting instructions on a variety of assignments at different times. Drew out term project much longer than it needed to take, resulting in pointless activities.

I took this class b/c the course description sounded interesting, but the course was COMPLETELY different. she even said so herself on the 1st day. we barely used the grammar book yet she expected grammar ex. from the book for our huge POINTLESS final project. very disorganized, rude & never made time to meet & explain things. i dont recommend her

I really enjoyed Madame Dumont's class. During the preparation periods for the oral exposition, she provided very helpful suggestions to me. I've definitely improved my French skills this year.

Ok, if you can't stand a passionate, outgoing, and dedicated prof don't take her classes. Mme is by far the BEST prof I've had and probably the best there is in the French dept. She is wacky but I love that about her, it makes class interesting. If taking her class enter it with an open mind and a willingness to challenge yourself.

When I took this class she was great, I am so happy to have had her as my prof. She has a great sense of humour and is very encouraging and helpful. Makes it very obvious that she loves what she does and does it for the students. Way to go mme!

She is an intelligent, smart, and funny (quirky) professor - yet it is intimidating to ask her a question - sometimes she is not very clear and she marks her tests harder than other profs in the french department. you think you did well till you get it back.

Mme. Dumont is a very good teacher. Her expectations are always very clear and she is very fair in her marking. She devotes alot of time to the students and clearly enjoys what she does.
