Comment:

Claudia is one of my favorite professors here at the UofL. She is so funny and always ties class material to personal experiences in order to make everything more clear. She holds tutorials before every test which helps if you are stuck on questions. Be prepared to write a few papers. Don't skip class - in class notes are crucial. Loved this class

Comment:

Claudia is fantastic. Though she grades hard, if you study hard and keep up with the readings and study guides, you should do fine. Be ready to read though, most of the chapters are at least 30 pages, some as high as 45. She is really helpful though if you ask her nicely and listen to what she tells you. Work hard and you'll do fine.

I love this class - it made me think about the body in new ways, and understand that the body is a political topic. Claudia is a great lecturer - she is funny, and tough, but fair. If you are sensitive, she might put you off, but her ideas are very interesting and challenging.

A great prof who made what could be difficult material easy to understand. her classroom environment was comfortable, and she often makes jokes which helps lighten the mood. Assignments that are handed are always returned extremely quick, and she really does read the papers handed in.

Claudis is unprofessional. She thinks because most people like her that she can swear be vulgar and rude to her students. There is a time and place for professionalism and that is usually in the classroom. Don't disagree with her, she will give you a bad mark. She is a preacher not a professor.

Good for the first part of the course... but then we did the gender unit, and all she could talk about was the plight of females. This got very tiring after awhile. Had discussions even in a large class, but they ended up being very cyclical and generally useless. Her exam questions were sometimes poorly written and unclear.

Fantastic Prof, great sense of humor, explained all concepts in ways that were easily understood. I really enjoyed Sociology but at this point I am not sure if I liked the subject or just the subject taught by her! Definately going out of my way to be in another one of her classes!

She does answer emails, first 2 exams were pretty decent, provided study guides but then dropped the ball for the final, most of the final was not covered in the study guide ....which is fine but seems she was a big fan of the there are multiple right answers just a best answer for HER ...

Claudia is one of my heroes! I was so sad that I only could take 1 class with her. The set up of the course was awesome, and her marking is crazy! read your mark before your comments, or else you will think you failed! Sure she talks a lot about Foucault, that means she is passionate, and who doesn't want a passionate prof?

not very helpful, didn't return emails, marking was irratic. Interesting lectures, but seemed like she was trying to do the minimum work possible as most of the class was comprised of student group project presentations. Class should be called "Foucault 101"

Awsome prof, very interesting and vitalic during lecture, very helpful. Having written 6 of her exams, her written answer questions are very predictable. Most importantly, she is extremely passionate about the subject matter. Can be abrasive at times, but taken with a grain of salt, a lot of fun!
