Had an A going into the final and ended with a B+. The final is the most brutal test I have ever taken and would highly recommend studying for it throughout the semester starting on the first day.

The class can be pretty intimidating to start off, but once you're settled, it's not so bad. The workload is pretty heavy with a sort of mini project and open note quiz every week which does suck, but it prepares you for the midterms. She also goes pretty fast and class and it can be hard to follow.

Horrible teaching method and makes the assignments a lot harder than they would have to be. Reads off slides and doesn't explain topics well. This class would be a breeze if she knew how to teach and did two days a week of lecture instead of an in-class assignment. She definitely should retire soon. Avoid if you can.

This class is much harder than it needs to be. 1 day lecturing on a chapter & the next spending on an hour+ long in class assignment that is much more difficult than what was taught to us. If she slowed down her lectures and made her assignments parallel to what taught, the class would be much better. Really nice human being, helpful in office hrs.

I took the class and got an A. I have to say, Dr. Pattison is a good teacher and if you follow carefully in class and review it after class to understand all the material, you can get an A. I agree she makes tests so hard but students are supposed to work hard to pass test. I would rather studying than complaining how hard the test is.

Listen up, this is a honest message to whom ever plans to take a class with her. The class may seem easy, but do no underestimate it. In class you will notice that everything clicks and works together. The material is laid out to look easy, but it is hard especially with her grading techniques.

Your GPA will be ruined to put it nicely. She is a very nice lady, but her grading criteria is odd. My friend forgot to multiply his bundle units by 2 and he got 40 points deducted. It is one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. Go to office hours and pay attention in class. Hope for the best. Pulled several all nighters for her exam.

Hardest class I've had. She is not very helpful. She races through lectures and provides examples that are much simpler than what the cases are and what is on the tests. Expect to be racing to finish on tests because everyone always ran out of time.

This school actively launders money from it's students and uses it to launch rap careers for it's own teachers and administrators instead. They're parasites.

If i can say one thing it is to study the cases like crazy. She gets a bad rap, but if you put the work in getting an A isn't that hard. I failed the first test but still managed to get an A in the class. She is a really nice lady if you get to know her. Work hard!

Three midterms and a final, Partner case each week, and MyAccountingLab. Midterms are straight forward and are exactly like the partner cases. The cases aren't bad; she drops the lowest two. MyAccountingLab sucks, it takes a long time to complete and doesn't teach much.

Pattison's class is pretty straight forward, and if you work hard you will succeed. There are 2 midterms and a final. There is a case each week but those are helpful in studying for the exams! MyLab assignments take a good amount of time.

This woman made my life miserable for an entire semester. I spent hours teaching myself the information because she does not know how to teach it in class. Additionally, the cases will consume your life.

Worst professor I have ever had which is a real shame considering this is a pivotal class in the Accounting Dept. She does not care if her students learn anything, as long as she gets through the lecture. I taught 100% of the material to myself. The cases that will occupy hours of your life are barely relevant to the test. USD please replace her!

She cares more about getting through the lecture as quick as possible than having her students actually learn the material. It's a bummer this is the caliber of one of the major classes in our accounting dep't. Hopefully USD switches this so-called "teacher" out soon.

Lectures are so short because she tears through the material at a very fast pace. Office hours are essential to understanding the course content. She is very helpful when you visit her office but shouldn't most of the learning come from class and not office hours? Difficult to adjust to this style. Knowing how to do the cases is the foundation.

So hard. She goes through powerpoints in 30 minutes without explaining anything. All the learning you do is on the cases. Takes days off class because you go through the material so fast. It may sound like a good thing, but trust me. Its not.

Honestly, Dr.Pattison is probably one of the best accounting professors at USD. She is truly dedicated to helping her students learn the material her class covers (I mean she did extra office hours numerous times on weekends). Cost accounting is not that hard you just have to put time into it.
