Isaacs is a very nice and genuine guy. He replaced Fisher for Psych of Sexuality and is fairly engaging. Will post slides with sections missing, uses iClicker and group discussions in class for participation, and online forum posts. Reading the textbook is key.

Tests on the most minute details from the textbook that bear any relevance to anything mentioned in class. Takes the full 3 hours watch videos and take polls which are not tested on. Basically only tests content from the textbook and small things mentioned in class. Won't post the slides until after lecture so you cannot take notes on slides.

This is the worst grade I have ever received. I'm normally an 80s student and I'm sitting at 65% in this class. His exams are difficult and you're expected to remember minute details rather than worrying about actually understanding the material. 100% would NOT recommend this prof. The material is interesting, but what a waste. Need textbook!

Only really used the textbook. Exams were really hard if you hadn't paid attention to every little detail within the textbook. Wish I didn't take his class.

Second exam was brutal. Had to memorize minute details and statistics from the Text that are not relevant to the main course outcomes. He is also not approachable and does not let you view your actual exam and scantron, just a version he printed off on his own. Overall, avoid this professor. I regret taking this class with him.

Professor Corey has to be one of the most underrated professors in the psychology department. He came as a substitute for Dr Atkinson towards the end of the second term. Lectures are spot on and engaging devoid of superfluity and unnecessary off-tangent rants. He really sparked my interest in psychology. A great experience overall.

Entirely textbook & chapter based. Do the readings. First test was simple, if you had done the readings even once over you would have done fine on the test. Test #2 was extremely hard and even after days of preparation made no sense. The wording was unclear and plain silly. Perusal of the textbook after- some info on the exam wasnt even in there!

Please do not take this course (at least with this prof) if you don't need to. I went in very excited about the content but the research proposal was absolutely brutal, as well as the exams. About 95% written exams and the questions were largely unfair (have to remember the name of the paradigm for marks rather than the description).

Doesn't seem to care about this class. Not accessible to students. Tests are ridiculously hard, expects you to memorize everything out of texts and be able to write about them in detail. Doesn't provide lectures, just throws reading after reading at you.

Hardest psych exams I have ever taken and I'm in 4th year psych. The Weekly discussions were okay (note; he marks the first one really hard for everyone! then is easier) But the midterms and the final were so brutal, 0/10 would not recommend. Take it in class or with a different prof if you can.

Had online course with Prof Isaacs, seems like a good person but the wording on the exams is really awful. I would not take again just because the questions on the exam are not clear. After looking at my textbook after the exam there are several questions that I still wouldnt be able to answer.

Strongly recommend to anyone in need of the psychology credit to ensure you get a different professor, found the lectures to be dry and boring. The tests had questions that were expected (if you read the textbook), but typically consisted of poorly worded answers to choose from which were confusing and resulted in poor grades despite preparing well

He only taught the last quarter of my psych class, but I loved going to the those lectures. I would say most of his slides are from the textbook, but the videos he included time to time that are related to topics are quite interesting. Definitely made psychology more interesting than I first expected.

Strangest exam ever. I knew my stuff through and through but the phrasing of the exam questions was so confusing and misleading. I knew what the answer should be, but none of the answers listed really made sense with the wording he chose! Very frustrating, as if he was trying to trick you, and made me feel the exam did not reflect my knowledge.

I've never been so bored in my life from a Professor's lectures. He is so dry, and is very good at repeating points on the slide for ten minutes... which we could clearly read... If you are looking forward to wasting time in your schedule listening to a clown pretend to know his stuff, go to his lectures Waste of time. Dr Mike FTW!
