Comment:

Very committed to choral music. If you're not as committed as he is you might have a problem. Class is easy if you show up. Answers questions if asked and is usually in good humor. It takes A LOT of time though so be prepared. Some pieces are fun though which redeems it.

Comment:

"Doc" is a very nice man, but a very lax director. His selections encompassed much of what I did in high school. He pays little attention to musical development. The way the choir sounds after learning notes and rhythms is how they sound on the concert. No musical expression. Concerts last upwards of 2 hours. Huge time requirement.

Music selection is a joke. He only is nice when he needs something from you. He is about as inspiring as a wet noodle. Don't waste your time with this class!!!!

Dr. Miller is a really nice guy but is extremely boring. He has like zero inspiration because his voice and mannerisms are so dull. His song selection is good sometimes but his concerts are tooooooo long and all the songs run together. He acts like choir is life I mean we do more choir crap than anything else. Only take choir if you love it!

Dr. Miller is a wonderful conductor and is very understanding if you have to miss a day because of an emergency. I look forward to trying out again next semester.
