He is simply great. He makes the class interesting and helps people who come from ESL background.He motivates them to do better and guide students to speak the language correctly with positive criticism. His class fun, educational and he gets you involved with his stories and at the same time teaches you to express your thoughts in a proper mannner

BORING he dpesnt teach he just talks about his life. eeeassy class though 3 easy speeches, 3 easy papers no final , no mid terms. He favors girls, i practiced for speeches, while the girl next 2 me didnt and she got a A i got a B

Great professor, lots of experience, really knows his stuff. Attendance is not really mandatory but you will be glad you came to class. Grade is based on 3 speeches: a group presentation, an informative speech, and a "vivid experience" from your life. This class is very easy, but you will learn a lot.

Easy class. 3 speeches no homework. problem with the class is all he does is talk about himself but honestly for a speech class you can't beat it. you do absolutely nothing just show up do your 3 speeches which are each 3-4 minutes long and you pass

He's a real nice and cool professor. But his stories are ridiculous. I can tell you more about his life than about speaking. He is going to insist that you read the book... Dont do it. Would I take him again, probably because hes a good guy, but rreally useless class Learned some stuff.. u give 2 speeches and a few papers.. nothing to hard..

You don't learn much about public speaking but it's an easy A. Don't bother buying the book. 3 main speeches and a minor one the first week of class. A few papers but as long as you follow his format they're easy A's. Rambles on about his personal life but easy class.

This class was a waste of my time! Take him only if you DON'T want to learn anything and if you just want to hear him talk about himself or people he knows. Oh and if you enjoy an old man trying to flirt with you, this class is a good choice for you as well.

hilarious! so many personal stories. goes off track a lot but its not boring when he does so. easy speeches only 3 of them and 3 papers. easy A's. dont get the book. youll probably have only 4 pages of notes by the end of the semester. easy class. makes you feel comfortable public speaking.

Comment:

Corey is lots of fun, he loves to tell stories and actually has some really good ones. Still, I didnt learn a thing about public speaking. Did 4 speeches - a 1 minute intro about myself, a 3 min persuasive, 3 min informative, and 3 min interview (interviewed a classmate). We wrote 4 1.5 pg papers - easy A, but boring!

Amazing! He was funny and fun and quite charming for an old guy!!!! I loved coming to class and hearing his stories. He really knows his stuff and is a wonderful speaker and storyteller.

Professor Corey can be extremely difficult to please and suddenly condescending to students. He is unclear about what he wants and does not teach. Claims to run class like a democracy but refuses to let you speak if/when you have something to say. This is a class designed for unquestioning slackers, not for dedicated students.

Like everyone else said, he's an easy A. You have a couple speeches which are 3-4 minutes long. He doesn't really teach, though. All he does is talk about himself. It's ok at first, but BORING as the semester goes on. I learned more about him that I did about public speaking. Infact, I didn't learn ANYTHING about public speaking.

He's a little bit annoying at times, but his class is super easy! The only work we ever had to do were the 3 speeches for the entire semester. (Yes, 3 speeches at 3-4 minutes each) He has some really awesome interesting stories that he tells throughout every class. Don't buy the book!!! You'll never use it once.

do not buy the textbook, we never used it. we did four speeches, two of which i made up right before class. the class was entertaining, he had a million corny jokes and stories. so very easy, so little work.

He often goes on tagents about himself and his son. If you aren't a morning person it is probably better to take him later in the day, because he is wayyyy too happy for 8:30. He usually picks on the same students everyday. The class was kinda easy but the purpose was not achieved of becoming a better public speaker.

OMG!! Dr. Corey is such a great teacher. Like he is really cool person. Trust me take him its only speeches and he tells jokes to get the class going and he a funny dude. He has a million stories that i find intresting so if you want an easy B+ or higher take him ASAP

A master of speech and a man with a million stories. He will dazzle you with his examples. Workload was low, and presentations were not bad. Class was very practical, and recommended.
