He's a tough professor, but his class is well worth it. He knows the material better than most and best believe he will attempt to teach you everything he knows. He does cold call and makes you stand up to present, but it is not as bad as you think. If you have a choice, I would definitely think about taking him.

He makes you stand up at least once and read a case, which scares people off. But he is really a very good teacher. I learned the subject matter well.

Favre is the man. A lot of people don't like him because he is just a plain and simple dude. Favre knows more about property law than most and he does a good job explaining it. Just do the reading, and engage yourself in class and PAY ATTENTION when he gives the rules. He's clear, and his test is fair, although tough. No surprises on test.

Property is definitely not the easiest class, but it was ok nonetheless. He did something new with our class, so I don't know if that was good or bad. I think he's funny. He goes over problems in class, which is really helpful! There is a big focus on issue statements (UDW)! The TA labs were really helpful as well.

If you happen to be agnostic, you're going to LOVE Favre, because nothing will be clear. The best advice is not to stress during the semester; nothing from class time matters, and then on the day of the final he will give you some insanely arbitrary exam and absolutely nobody will be happy about it. All that said he's not a bad guy in his office.

Everything you read on here is true. You might as well not study for the final, because either the questions he ask weren't taught or weren't discussed in class. His guidance both in and out of class will not help you on the final either. Also, he has a weird thing for wooden elephants, so that's a plus if you are into that sort of thing.

I think he has gotten a bad rap because he makes people stand up, but his cold cold method is fair and he teaches the material quite well. He expects a lot from students but is not malicious and you will gain a more in-depth understanding than students in other sections.

Be assured, if you study hard, as hard as you can, it will not make one bit of difference. God help you if your section gets him for Property.

I had Favre for Property my 1st yr & HATED him! But then I had him for Animal Law & LOOOOOVVED him! He's like a completely different person. The course is interesting and he teaches the material really well, but he runs things much more informally than most profs. Most of the class time is spent just discussing the reading, not lecturing

I studied harder for my property final than any of my other 1L classes and I got my worst grade in this class. The final was immensely difficult. There will be an essay on race notice and we had one on treasure trove/abandoned property. Being prepared/being called on doesnt matter only the final counts. Gilberts is helpful Everyone thinks they fail

Demands a lot from his students, but in return you learn a lot. It's true the final doesn't cover all the topics you learn in class, but it's not arbitrary grading; be assured, if you study hard, you'll get the grade you deserve

If standing up to talk is too much to handle, then you probably shouldn't be going to law school. get over it. He's a fairly nice person, not the greatest teacher. But pay attention in class, read the cases, get gilberts or emmanuels or e&e and you can get a good grade.

Professor Favre was a good teacher. He provided the material in a relatively clear manner, and helped you to understand some very complicated topics. However, the final exam did not test what was taught in class. This does not mean it tested new topics. The final barely covered, at most, 25% of what was learned during the year.

I have no problem with a tough prof, but you don't have to be an d*ck about it. I wanted until I was a 2L so I could compare him with other professors - terrible. His exam does not test what you learn in the class.

Worst professor I have ever had and this is by no means an exaggeration. He is condescending toward the students and purposefully tries to trick you on the final. Only possible way to study for the exam is by MEMORIZING a supplement. Truly a disappointment.

Excellent professor. He was nice enough to direct my major research paper, and set standards that were not too difficult to meet. He also provided very helpful advice that allowed me to improve my paper. Gave me an A on my final paper; highly recommended for directed study coursework.
