The class was tough and there is no side-stepping it. Took it online with another course while working full time and got through it ok. Do not expect to sail through this class without much effort, ain't gonna happen. Helpful and offered challenging feedback in discussions. Fair grader of very difficult essay exams; must know the material!

Comment:

Don't take this class with this professor. Weekly test must pass with 80% in order to take the midterm and the final. His midterm and final are extremely hard because you have two hours buts you must write or should I say type many of the answers out. His reports are also challenging and he goes over them with a fine tooth comb.

I took his class in online , the worst class I ever take and the worst instructor I ever had, he is a not a good instructor. He does not like to help students, he does not communicate much in discussions forums. I learned everything from the book but nothing from him. Expect to memorize everything that is in the book. Do not take his class.

Comment:

Dr. Roebuck meets the criteria for everything positive in a college professor. He makes difficult and dense material fun and understandable. You will want to go to class. The academic material is difficult, but if you show effort you will be pleased with your own success. Great preparation for Law and pre-Law studies.

I cannot say anything bad about Professor Roebuck personally but I can say that this class is the hardest I've ever taken. I took it online and it is surely not organized for any working adult. You can not complete any assignments, take the exam and still come out with a C. Don't do well on the exams and you fail.

During 2nd attempt to pass, which I did with an A, the 2nd teacher I signed up with had the exact same introduction as Roebuck in his class, such as he loves those that disagree with him, bio..! Pointed this out and he stated he worked with Roebuck, helping with previous classes...so ya never know who is informing/grading/responding in the class.

The midterm and final exams are very difficult. These two exams weigh heavily on your final grade. I did bad on the midterm and this brought my grade down a lot. I emailed the professor and he pretty much told me that I wasn't going to pass, but I did pass. Professor seemed rude and not willing to help. I wouldn't take another class with him.

This professor do not operate in an logical manner. He expect way too much from a student in a very short time. His assignments are too extreme to accomplish at a decent grading level. He don't care about his students. His midterm and final is proctor for an online class. He need to really think about the student he is teaching.

Exams are written harder than they need to be, the study guide is vague and leads to material not on the exams. This was online with no lectures, He made the study guide to go along with note taking during lectures, again, the class had no lectures! what he fails to understand is that without lectures,the study guide is... read the book.

Awesome professor. My favorite at CC. His anecdotes are interesting and help with understanding the material. He is very helpful and cares about his students. He is a very open-minded professor and encourages other opinions than his own. With hard work, an A is attainable.

Clear and straight to the point teacher. Took his online course. Not a lot of busywork and assignments are informative and actually teach you something. Great professor to help you outside of class as well. If you're interested in Law, he's also the prelaw advisor.

This is the worst class I have ever taken and I had awesome grades until this class. The teacher makes the tests so hard that half the class failed the test, which was the Final, and the whole grade basically lies in the final. He is disrespectful to his students and doesn't take interest in the students that do not share the same opinion as him.

Columbia College Needs to get another teacher for this class. This guys is horrible and a complete DOUCE. Be prepared to memorize the entire text. Class is so boring and dry with test YOU WILL FAIL.
