It was a pretty simple class. She was a quick responder when I emailed her with questions. There were a few in-person exams that were fairly easy. I'd probably choose to take another class from her in the future.

Comment:

This class is tough, and even though it's online there is an in-person midterm and final. There were moments I was struggling, but I was able to meet up with her outside of class, and she was also really understanding of my LOA. Most of this is preprogrammed grading, but again she can answer questions that you have in-person.

Comment:

I learned a lot from this class including discipline. I went to class everyday and listened attentively, but I still failed. Deanna is a great teacher, but you have to be very intelligent to be able to keep up. My only problem is her reviewers are nothing like the tests. I know students shouldn't depend on that, but atleast help us pass your class.

It would behoove of you if you're NOT an abstract thinker, to stray away from this class; doesn't really use the book, unless it's for homework; all your review materials are NOT gonna appear on the tests/quizzes; lectures are pretty darn quick for such difficult topics; doesn't really motivate the class when we're feeling lost; seems a bit cold

She moves quickly through material without pausing making it hard to take notes & keep up. Made simple concepts seem complicated. Harsh grader with rigid expectations. Class grade is 80% tests, which are too long for the alotted 50 minutes. Assigns tons of worksheets & doesn't offer extra credit. Unapproachable & cold. A discouraging experience.

This instructor is unprofessional. She jumps into subject matter, assuming everyone already understands. Genuine questions are met with disdain and public humiliation. This woman made me question my choice to get another degree. She may be smart, but 098 is below her, and she acts like it. FYI: I'm not a whiner, moved to another section, got 4.0.

Deanna is passionate and (somewhat) funny. However, class was boring and sort of rushed; try to keep up with what she said and the whiteboard because both aspects can come out during test. Definitely a tough grader and don't ever hope for extra credits. The test preparation exercises didn't help at all, so review everything before test.

Extra credit is no listed in her syllabus so don't expect it. We had few, unplanned opportunities which helped me a lot! Everything was out f the book, there is not additional lecture or materials only the online book and math lab. You have to dig deep into the text if you want good understanding. A quick read and assignments is not enough.

Took 116 class online. Most difficult class Ive ever taken. Was spending 6+ hours a day in the tutoring center just trying to keep up. I've never failed a class before and had to drop this in order to save my GPA. Emails were not promptly responded to, nor questions clarified in ways I could comprehend. Youtube and math tutors were my teachers.

Dianne Li. She puts the grade and HW on Canvas, so you can check your grade via Canvas before you reach the classroom. Her explanation is clear and easy to understand if you concentrate on the lecture. She gives many chances of extra credits, doesn't check the attendance and daily HW. But, for yourself, you'd better go to class and do HW everyday.

Well informed, planned her classes thoroughly, and willing to answer questions. She was a very picky grader, but was generous with partial credit. Had a good balance between tests and homework.

This was a teacher I would take again. She is very knowledgeable in math, and is always there to help if you don't understand. She jokes sometimes, but class can get pretty boring. She claimed to only lecture for 20 minutes, but she lectures the full hour. Non native English speaker but she teaches great. Few graded assignments + chapter tests.

The thing i like best about her is that she puts the book page of whatever we are learning that day on the projector every class so you don't have to rent a $95 math book. She is also willing to solve any homework problems without judging ( you know some teachers do !) And as long as you pay attention and study, you are gonna do great in her class.

Comment:

Her classes test are hard but she clarifies materials. I took her from Pre-calculus to Calculus and would recommend everyone to her. She gives out homework every two weeks and they help boots your grades up. If you do your homework and ask for clarification you will score very high and learn. She makes calculus interesting.

Her teaching style is perfect - she teaches you some and then has you do it, sends you home with practices problems, has weekly homework to turn in, and a handful of tests. She grades tough because math is a precise discipline where every mistake counts, but she gives you the correct answers too. Too bad I won't be able to take her for 141!

I strongly recommended Diana Li!!! I took her Math 148 and 152 and am taking 153 right now. She is so clear that I can understand very well what she talks about in class. And I love her class notes and Review Sheet! REALLY USEFUL!!
