Frank Garcia is a very rude man. Just from speaking with him a few times, I got the feeling that he didn't care about my sucess or the success of any of his students. He has no personality, is boring and doesn't have a sense of humor. He teaches straight from the book, and it seems like he hates his job. Get a prof who cares about you.

Frank is a great teacher but expects a lot from his students. He assigns readings and then goes over it the next day. He gives the reasons on why you use a formula instead of just the formula. He gives clear guidance on how to address problems and how he wants to see them solved. People who fell behind in the homework/reading tended to drop out.

This teacher is not helpful at all, uses only examples from the book, doesn't explain material in a clear manner, and makes you feel inferior for asking for help. He flirts with the young women. I regret having taken this class.

The worst prejudiced teacher against minorities, flirts with young women, grades unfairly. The worst teacher I ever had!! Going right to the dean after the quarter. Started with 30 students, ended with 9!!!

Was clear in his approach, and showed a deep understanding of math at this level. Felt confident in his ability to explain things to me, and ended up comprehending the material well. I did a lot of out of class studying and did well. Difficult to get to know and behaved kind of chummy with certain members of the class, opposed to others.

B/c it was the only time frame that worked, I had no choice but to take his class. Honestly, I would have rather taken the 8am class with another instructor b/c I dislike Frank so much. Sure, the class is easy, but his grading for the hw is completely ridiculous. Before his class, I hadn't scored below a 90 on a test. Today, I got a 75. Very upset.

This course was my dullest yet. I need to get a good math education for my major, but I was so bored with Garcia. There is no diversity in material or lesson plans if there even is a plan. He goes straight from the book and has not provided any other strategies to go by. Consider your options before taking this class.

He teaches straight out of the book. He even tried to do examples out of the book but messed up numerous times. His class is so boring you feel unmotivated to go. I feel like I was cheated out of an education because the class was so poor. Get another teacher if possible. I was not satisfied. He makes lots of snide remarks also, so watch out.

Frank is great. I was having trouble passing my math classes, but he is clear and patient and moves at a great pace. I really respect him and I enjoy his classes. He can be a bit feisty, but its good natured and does not feel personal. He is great. I will take all three math classes with him if I can.
