Comment:
Ecology was the worst class I've taken at Clark. Livdahl's exams are incredibly unclear and subjective but he grades them as though they aren't. Class averages on exams are consistently failing grades. He claims to curve grades at the end of the semester but does not inform anyone of what that curve will look like so basically you have no clue.

He is very rude person. He is dismissive of students and was hard to work with.

Nice guy, very helpful outside of class. Lectures can be hard to follow at times, tests are moderately difficult. He's a stat guy, so material is very stat based. Took him for qual methods too...Software drove me crazy, see him outside of class to do well and try to keep up the best you can.

Possibly the most boring professor I ever had. The lab was interesting but in class I thought I would die from boredom. He makes you memorize a lot of formulas and graphs for the tests, which I didn't didn't like.

I took several classes from Todd between 1986-1990 - I took most of his ecology-based courses offered. He was a great mentor and really directed me into research - without his influence as an undergrad, I would likely not have a PhD today. I joke with him that I realized that if he could do this, then I could too - hence my choice of profession!

i enjoy his class... he can be a little tedious, but he's a good teacher who obviously loves his subject and it shows. I would definitely take other classes with him.

I think he's really nice, but because he appears to be sooooooo shy, I feel he talks a lot to his chest as opposed to to the class. His lectures are too much Power Point (and not in a good way). But he's really helpful and I think really understanding. Its hard to stay awake but at least he's nice and not full of himself like some other Bio profs.

Incredibly nice in person. Absolutely can't stand the dull lectures and labs where you feel like gnawing your arm off out of boredom. Don't bother buying the Ecology text because all material that is featured on exams (in a very bozarre way) is in his lectures. If you want to get an A is Q.Methods -- GO TO HIS OFFICE FOR HELP EACH WEEK.

To fully appreciate "Hot Rod Todd," take Disease Vectors or Atlantic Shores and hang out with him for a week in Bermuda. You won't regret it! "Quirky" best describes him. his teaching style is very direct. Not too easy, not too diff

Had prof. livdahl for many classes. Admittedly can seem sort of quirky and boring at first exposure, however once one gets to know him, he is really an interesting man with a very good background in both ecology and statistics. can be very funny at times.
