Such a wholesome person and reasonable teacher! As long as you do what you're supposed to do in her class you'll be able to pass. She's also very understanding and willing to work with students who are struggling to get them to pass. Honestly, she has to be one of my fav professors at Columbia!

Getting a direct answer out of her is like pulling teeth. She doesn't give direct feedback and instead of giving you her professional and experienced opinion on different methods for printing she says "try it" like you have endless funds and time. She talks down to her students and acts like we know nothing and refuses to answer a lot of your Q's

Deb is a wonderful lady! She will change your life and how you see photographs. She actually gave me the resources to build my own darkroom! Take advantage of her knowledge. She is the queen of photograms. What a gem!

WORST. She doesn't know how to work Lightroom or anything related to technology. She rambles on. Was nice earlier, but by the end of the semester has NO MERCY. Yea, its a new way to teach the class, but she had no idea what she was doing. All of the students are getting poor grades.

Deb understands that we were beginners with no experience in the dark room. She took and slow and help us perfect our prints. Even our photography teacher noticed this on our first assignment and was very impressed. She has a fun attitude and likes to make the class fun. There are a lot of fun experiments. Highly recommend this class!!!

Deb is amazing. I haven't had a more helpful photography teacher. She's very caring and understanding. And while some teachers try and teach you 'their way,' she does the opposite and lets you decide which direction to take with your work. Very helpful, knowledgeable, respectful, and just n overall great person.

The most obnoxious thing about this class was Deb's TA, Amanda. Deb allows Amanda to co-teach the class. This would be fine, but her TA is self-righteous and overwhelming. The two of them together are barf-worthy.

Deb is an amazing person. She is also a wonderful teacher. She allowed her class to be creative as well as teaching us the technical side of photography. I became a photo major largely because of her class. Four years after having her as a instructor, we still are in contact. Take her class... you won't be sorry.

She is so sweet and laid back. Like a hippie She's more about asthetics than technicality but still teaches you what you need to know. She's not anal like some of the other teachers i've heard about. By the end of the semester she lets youtalk about what you need to do rather than her telling you.

BEAUTIFUL PERSON! I love Deb. I ran into her three years after I took her class as a one-shot over the summer deal at Columbia--and she recognized me! In eight weeks she taught me everything I needed to know about darkroom, was always around, very friendly, very open. I love dkrm bc of her!

Deb is one of the only teachers I have had at Columbia who genuinly cares about her students. I hated photo and took it as a requirement. She helped me pass and made it berrible. She really wants you to walk away being happy,having learned someting be it about photo or yourself. A great teacher.
