He is a good teacher. At times it is frustrating because it almost seems like what he teaches isn't in the homework or test. He does want you to pass the class though. He makes sure to give you extra if you asks for it. At the end of the semester he wants you to have a good grade and does his best to make that happen.

Dennis is literally worlds worst teacher. Prepare yourself for a conversation based lecture without powerpoints. Also, Dennis doesnt cover all the material before an exam. He doesnt even teach as a matter of fact. If you want a terrible teacher and meltdowns every single night, his class is perfect for you.

I took this class online, which made it more difficult (as did taking it alongside Econ 202, learn from this mistake!), but Professor Shannon is the only reason I'm going to pass. He is incredibly involved for an online professor, is in constant contact, and has a great attitude and a desire to be helpful. Which is crazy hard to find in online.

I hated economics. I thought it was the most boring and dreadful class, however, that is not his fault. I did not like him at the beginning- his jokes made him seem kind of creepy. But after awhile you realize he's just a nice guy that cares about you and is a little quirky. Study, fill out the study guides, participate, ask questions.

Awesome teacher, class was difficult but he really tries to help you. MyEconLab is how you get good grades. He drops the lowest of 4 exams, lowest 2 of 12 homework assignments and quizzes. Very interactive, really knows what he is doing. Also very funny, if I ever had a problem he was more than happy to help, offers extra credit for participation

This class was tough. I would have liked it if we were able to get more discussion done in class over the topics but he was very energetic and fun. The class is very hard. However, he is more than happy to help you and was always great about returning e-mails.

I didn't do the best, but that's on me. Professor Shannon has left an impact on me that no teacher I've had before did. He is a witty man who knows what he is talking about. The only problems are that he focuses to much on prep rather than actual teaching which bores me. He saves this, however, by giving passionate lectures which captivate me.

As long as you pay attention during lectures, take notes during class, and spend at least a little bit of time in the textbook on your own, the class isn't all that difficult. He's also willing to negotiate on due dates. The physical textbook isn't necessary, but I find that it comes in handy when doing the online homework and quizzes.

If you use all the resources given to you in the online course this course will be easy. If you want an A in the class you have to be passionate about this field of study because it can get boring very quickly. They make it seem that the book is mandatory, but it is not. It is not worth it because the online book comes free with the online class.

Hands down one of the best professors Ive ever had, and this coming from an 8am student. His class is tough, but he does literally every thing in his power to help you succeed. Do The Hot Topics for each exam. They are extremely helpful.

Communication is key with him, and he will go out of his way to help. Absolutely amazing teacher, enthusiastic, personable, unique teaching methods. Best class Ive had at SWIC.

He was a really good teacher, but he has high expectations. If you really work hard, it will be an easy class, but it does require work.

I only took the online class, but I can see how great of a teacher he is. Responds to your questions as soon as possible and is very helpful. It's a very clear grading criteria so you know exactly what you need to get your A! I'm taking this teacher again this summer because the structure of the class is so organized.

Amazing online class professor! He actually wants all of his students to pass his class. He gives out the timeline for all of the assignments and sends out reminders when each assignment is due. Good communication, which is the best thing you can hope for when taking online courses.

I took this class online and it was alright, Denis does care about the students, always sent out reminder emails for assignments, and is willing to work with you. The midterm and exam were very difficult and killed my grade even though I got through it. Probably best to take the class in person.

Any interest in economics? This is your guy! Transferring to a business school? This is your guy! You will be well prepared.. He puts a lot of effort into his teaching and truly cares if his students learn or not. It is a tough class but very interesting as well. I took ECON201 first, and I recommend taking the classes in that order.
