She made math kinda easy! At first it would be a lot then as we went along with the lesson it got easier! She wants to see her students pass! She was great and I loved her.

Comment:

I really recommend this professor. She is so inspirational. I was on my third attempt developmental math, I had taken ALEKS and other teachers. I just did not feel like I could get the information. She inspired me, encouraged me, and helped me learn and understand math concepts. For the course we used my math lab and I used the online textbooks.

If you love math then go for it. She is a good teacher but wants you to learn the way she does and takes off points when she sees that you dont show work the way she she likes. You get your take home HW, online quiz, & online homework every class. Goodluck!

This professor is the most helpful inspiring people in the Math department. Her motivated attitude may come off as harsh however she eagerly want All of her students to learn and be confident in there math skills. I wish I could take her for every math class,,,,. Do the work engage yourself ask questions and you WILL pass

Best math teacher i've had. She may be a precise teacher, but she is pretty clear on how to learn the material. Loved her class!!!

Professor Pruett seems intimidating at first, but she will eventually warm up to you. She wants answers done in a particular way and will make you work in pairs to complete classwork, but she will go over it all at the end of class. In the long run, she cares for you and wants you to succeed.

Loved the teacher -- She's a very visual person, using software and powerpoint-type of presentations. Without that, I wouldn't have understand what was going on in math!

I'm not sure if it is the course that has bizarre ways of answering problems or Pruett's. All word problems have to have a complete sentence for the answer--which includes no symbols or abbreviations. If you put the effort into her assignments, she will put the effort into grading it. The book is Quantitative Literacy so it might just be the class.

At first, I was not a fan of this class or the professor. She does give A LOT of homework and most of it is online. Pruett does want you to learn and she is helpful when you come to her and ask for help. Mid way through the semester, over half the class had dropped. It is challenging but you do learn!

I've read the reviews and can relate to both the good and bad. I didn't like her at first. Thought she was strict and indifferent. High expectations. 75% of my class dropped. When it came to the core class, she warmed up. Funny, positive and super helpful. There's a method to her madness. If you're serious and committed, she's the way to go.

So I COMPLETELY HATE math so much. Once I started her class, i hated it even more. But after she took the time out to explain everything to me, it became a lot easier to learn. She is so helpful and lets you call anytime of the day if you are stuck on something or don't understand something. I love her!! and I would recommend her 100%. She rocks!!

Prof Pruett was great. A little OCD, but great. Always available for help, and if you take her notes and attend class,she makes learning evil algebra that much easier. She calls herself mean sometimes because her expectations are high, but she really is a great teacher. I wish she taught my next math class.

Do not take her class if you don't want to actually learn the Math you will require to graduate. If you are just looking for an easy Algebra class, Pruett is not for you. If you are looking for an excellent teacher that uses methods to ensure you learn and understand the material, I doubt you will find a better Math teacher than Pruett.

I spent more time focusing on the way she wants the HW turned in and keeping my notebook organized(she deducts points for this)than I did moving forward and learning the materials. She wants your HW completed with MML and on paper. If the HW isn't the way SHE wants it she will make you re-do it and will not let you take the upcoming test(s).

Mrs. Pruett has her style of doing things. She teaches you, but will not explain it a different way if you do not understand her way. She is strict in what she wants from you, and she spends more time on her power point than she does with the students. If I were looking for a math teacher, I would pass her by.

Her classes are not that bad. Any math is my worst subject but if you go to every class and take an hour to do the homework its a very understandable class. i see many complaints about the notes and how she wants things organized her way but funny thing is i still keep my notes organized that way
