An easy A if you have a TI-84 and review over the concepts/attend a few lectures. But, this semester the professor was SUPER disorganized, and we were so behind that we were not able to get through all the content. He also explained stuff more complicatedly than it needed to be. Overall, get a TI84, go to tutoring maybe, and skim the book a little.

Half of the questions on each exam has material that was never covered. Everything was easy, however, it's hard to pass a test when you're graded on what isn't taught to you.

I only sat in 2 lectures the entire semester and got an A. The stats is pretty basic and almost the entire class cheats on the test. His grading scale makes it really easy to get an A-. He's a really nice professor that understands economics, just not the best lecturer.

Assane is a nice guy but not a very good instructor. The class was VERY unorganized and the assignments are never fully explained. Taking this class requires teaching yourself a ton of math. He has a strong accent so if you do not sit in the first rows you will not hear him. Only 4 tests, 4 quizzes and a group excel paper. Very hard class overall.

He is a friendly guy, and is willing to help if you ask, but this class was not a positive experience. We were graded on six assignments, five of them being exams. We were assigned several computer projects that took an hour or more to complete, and received no credit for them because they were "practice." Would not take another of his classes.

I took him during the summer and he is a solid choice. Lectures are straightforward with many examples. He provides practice exams and keys on how to complete the questions. His accent may be hard to understand, but sit near the front and you should be fine. Three easy Excel papers and you can work in groups. No homework, only 10 question exams.

Professor Asssane is a good professor that wants us to understand the material because it is important and useful outside of school. He is a knowledgeable professor who is passionate about Economics. Would recommend

Extremely easy class, essentially basic middle school level stats but now with hypothesis testing and normal curves added in as well. If you want to cheat you easily can, but it's not necessary at all. He has a thick accent and is pretty boring, but the class is the easiest I have taken in my life.

I learned nothing and cheated on every test... I normally don't but it was way too easy in this class and too hard to actually learn something. He is very smart but cannot teach. You have to buy his textbook in order to use the online quiz thing but it is a waste of money.

Hes honestly a pretty good professor. His accent is hard to pick up at first, just sit in the front few rows and youll be fine. He makes it hard to not pass the class. Things are accessible on canvas with answer keys and he curves your final grade. Just show up and keep up with the material. You get what you put in

Assane's class is not that bad. His lectures will get boring, but you can seriously teach yourself the material or ask a friend. 4 tests NOT CUMULATIVE (1 was online) each worth 20%. About 5 quizzes throughout the entire semester, 2 extra credit opportunities, and a term paper (need to know how to use excel).

Professor Assane lectures the full class period every class. 4 tests & 2 quizzes per test. NO homework. 2 practice term papers on excel and 1 final (which can be done in groups). I never used the textbook but you have to purchase it to access the quizzes. I thought the class was easy and I am not good at math. 86-91 A- and 92-100A

His grading scale is fantastic!! The tests aren't super hard either, but it's a good idea to practice the in class problems before the exams.

Assane is the best Statistics professor you could ever have! He is a funny guy and makes the materials easy to understand. Make sure you write good notes because they will help you a lot. At first I was hesitant to take him because of the mixed reviews here but I don't regret taking him because I couldn't have asked for a better professor.

You only have 3 exams and one final. No homework. Just show up to class take notes and you're good. Everything on the exams he literally goes over on the lectures. Plus he gives the last semester exams to practice. He just changes the numbers but keeps it super similar. He's amazing honestly and yes his accent is tough but if you sit in the front

Summer Session: Professor Assane was a good instructor. If you're taking this over the summer, you NEED to go to class. There are new concepts learned every day and there are exams at the end of the week, each week. There's one group project using excel as well. Also, you can use a note sheet for formulas during the exams.

Hes late for every class and never gives clear criteria for anything, yet he would blame students for not understanding him. Questions are discouraged. The class is a mess!

The best ECON 261 class. Professor will give students plenty of chances to pass and recover from each exam. Extra credits and online quiz is a plus. If you fail this class its all your fault and you're pathetic if you blame the professor or the other people around you. If you don't take Assane, goodluck with the rest of the Econ professors at UNLV.

He is one of the most caring and kind professor I have taken class with. He tries his best to accommodate everyone even when the class is huge! He is so nice to students that they take advantage of him which is sad. Hope he will continue to be as nice to future students. Very good class overall.

The class does require the online textbook in order to take quizzes online, but he made the class really fun. He had a sense of humor and made boring statistics examples fun. There are 4 big tests, all equally weighted, with online quizzes before each test. The class is huge so attendance is only taken through the quizzes. He's really cool too.
