Comment:
Professor is extremely intelligent but his teaching methods are challenging. He will spend an entire class going over a topic that does not make it on the exam. Not only are his questions short answer, if you dont memorize the answers word for word you get no credit. You can learn a lot from him but its nearly impossible to get a good grade.

Comment:
Mel is the absolute worst professor I have ever taken. His methods are terrible. Nothing he teaches is on the Exam. His exams are short answered, no multiple choice which is fine, but he expects paragraph long answers for 30+ question exam. 0/5 for teaching. 5/5 for being extremely intelligent, but he expects you to know what he knows.

Hes super nice and curves heavily. The hardest part is staying focused on his lecture because he rambles a bit but he will go over problems in detail to help students understand. Stay off your phone/internet and really pay attention to what he's teaching and you'll be fine.

His exams are short answer and not easy. But if you will learn a lot. He is also caring and willing to work with you if you have any questions. Lots of people found his exams irrelevant to what he talked about in the class but they are. You know this if you understand the concept. He curves a lot afterwords. If you don't wanna study, don't take him

Comment:
The most unnecessarily difficult class I have ever taken. Exams are short answer. The average on the second exam was in the low 60s. Good luck trying to teach yourself too, the exam has things that were never on the slides. If you can, avoid taking his class for 312.

He knows his stuff. It is not an easy class but he is there to help you. You can email him about the stuff or questions you don't understand and he replies back to you instantly. If you try to understand the material, there is no way you won't pass this class.

His lectures are boring and very uninteresting. His slides dont give you a lot of information and the book is a mess of information. The way he speaks is all over the place. Would never take him again. Only positive is he gives points for effort on tests

THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER! DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! Exams have NOTHING to do with the powerpoints or study guide. The textbook is pointless. His lectures are too boring and confusing . Also, he explains nothing about how to do the problem sets. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL professor!

Comment:
Teacher is unreasonably difficult and does not teach the subject in a way for students to understand. Very harsh grader with unreasonable expectations. Textbook was worthless. Got a 58% on the final that was curved to a B overall as the whole class was failing. Did not learn a thing from this class except to never take another class taught by him.

Very knowledgable professor who helps you prepare for tests by giving pass/fail problem sets and graded quizzes on a predictable schedule and grading scale. Tests are slightly curved and typically have a study guide or prior exam posted on webcampus/canvas. It's impossible to fail problem sets because he will work with you during office hours.

Jameson makes no sense 75% of time, answers questions in confusing ways, exams 2 & 3 have nothing to do with what he talks about in class and are not like the problem sets. Lectures are boring. Problem sets or vocab quizzes every other class. Exams were extremely difficult, class averages were D's on 2/3 exams. Curves one letter grade at the end.

Prof is a very nice guy and is happy to help but the class is pretty bland. Routine homework and quizzes. Grade heavily determined by 3 tests. Best advice is to focus on the concepts and try to understand intuitively what is going on. That is what he really grades on. Get ready to look at a lot of graphs... Getting a C is easy, A is tough.

Great professor, really knows what hes talking about and takes an intimidating subject and makes it easy to learn. I had him for Money and Capitol markets. He made interest rates easy to understand and answers questions well. Will definitely try to take him again.

It's actually amazing how bad this class is, this guy rambles on and on to the point of confusion with even the simplest topics. He puts everyone to sleep with his lectures. The least charismatic professor I've ever taken. Book ($160) is only used for quizzes. Hw and exams are based on lectures and his self created powerpoints that explain nothing

Absolutely horrible. He rants on when asked a question & never ends up answering it. His exam questions dont make any sense. His exams & quizzes are all write-ins, no multiple choice. His problem sets are all pass/fail. I would suggest taking another professor, but sadly hes the only one for this course. Final exam is comprehensive &36% of grade.

He tends to over explain topics, but in a different way each time so if you don't understand it the first time, you're bound to by the third. And he really values class participation, which is the best way to learn in his class.

Worst finance profesor i have ever had. Avoid taking !!!! Boring lectures and he does not know how to explain the matterial well. Tests are hard and lectures have no explanation just graphs that he goes over in class. Did not upload the answers to the practice test so we can compare and see how we did.

Very nice guy but he's very boring. I would look around the class and only two people would be paying attention. HW assignments are ok but have nothing to do with the tests. Everyone does bad so he has to curve. I do not recommend him. Take another professor that wont bore you to death.

Jameson is very knowledgeable but gives very basic overviews on the subject so be sure to ask questions. His Hw is very easy but doesn't reflect the mid-terms or Final very well. Understand the math as well as basic concepts ( time value of money, diminishing returns of debt, capital structure, etc) and you will do fine.

Boring lectures (boring subject matter and his delivery). Two midterms + final, written assignment and 5 HW assignments. Work is pretty easy, but textbook is worthless and he is poor at explaining complex ideas simply. Nice guy and pretty easy on grading (HW is creditno credit). Our exams were generously curved but only 9 of us enrolled.
