I though he was a awesome teacher. Everyone else is correct about him not being understandable during the lecture. I recommend that you sit in the first two rows if you can. He really knew what he was talking about in his subject. He wasn't in a hury either and we finished the book in time. Overall he was an awesome teacher!

Maybe he was good 3 or 4 years ago but now.. He rambles and his tests don't line up with notes or the text. I guess if you have a book from 20 years ago you'll be fine. If you're a natural history buff it'll be a breeze but to everyone else, good luck. I hear he doesn't fail people though.

Okay he's a nice guy but he's just too old to be teaching. His monotone voice and constant rambling makes it hard to pay attention and take notes. He doesn't follow the book and his tests are nigh impossible. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!

Horrible!!!! He may have been good teacher a few years ago but not now. You can not understand one freaking word he says. You ask to repeat it he gets aggravated. With the new book change the test are not from that textbook. I read and came to class but still barely passed. DO NOT GET HIM FOR A TEACHER unless you know history naturally!

Dr. Cheatham is wonderful! :) His class is simple: come to class, pay attention, take notes, and read your book. What a concept! If you do that, you'll make a good grade. Don't expect, however, to earn a good grade if you won't come to class or read.

All of these ratings are deceiving. I'll tell it like it is: He is a horrible history professor. His teaching prime was obviously before he retired the first time. People drop like flies in his course. Be prepared to fail if you're not a natural history guru. Good luck to all who enroll.

very very boring, teaches out that same yellow paper note book since they 1st came out with paper. test are hard, funny when he gets chalk alllll over himself !! but eh not too bad of a guy.

He is like... 86, but fun. I looked him up 10 years later to see if he was still alive. I'm glad he is... he's the kind of guy you miss after you leave Motlow. He's kind of like a really nifty grandpa who refuses to retire. Motlow wouldn't be the same without him. He really is a reasonable guy. He'll help you if you will ask and be nice.

Im not sure how this guy still teaches. Besides the fact that he was born in the pre-civil war era his class is a total snoozer. During the little time I could find myself keeping consciousness in his class was a complete waste because I could not keep up with his errant rambling from one topic to another.

Great teacher!! Although he has a quiet voice, he teaches like he's been there. Sit towards the front, and listen to his lectures. If you need help, make an appt. he will help you understand whatever you need. I recommend him to anyone. Beware though, if you tape lectures- he gets off the subject a lot.

Dr. Cheatham is a great professor! His class is easy, but you learn the material. He likes to tell corny jokes. He also tries to show both sides of partisan issues. You do have to read the materials if you want an A in history, but his tests are multiple choice. Great class, great professor, very much worth your time! I highly respect him.

Dr. Cheatham is a great teacher. Very old fashion-but in a good way. Make history interesting with stories and little jokes. Sit towards the front-sometimes he mumbles. I will always remember him-great man.

Great teacher. If you cannot make an A in his political science class, then you need to take a look at yourself. Ask yourself "Am I stupid?" Because his Pol Sci classes are so easy! If you listen to his lectures, you will make 90s and 100s on every test.

I had Dr. C for both Histories and both Political Sciences. He was a good teacher. If you listen to his lectures you can make a 100 on everything and he gives TONS of extra credit (you can add up to 7 pts on your final grade) The only people who struggle in his class are the ones who dont come. And that is not his fault.
