At first, I really didn't like her or the class. She is quirky & demands respect in the class. Once I got used to her style, I realized she is a great professor who loves history. No textbook. Have to read 1 200+ page book & 2 speeches by Churchill & write a 2-3 page analytical paper on both discussed in class. Midterm and final only tests.

I had this professor for Modern American History as well, but I took her for Foundations of American History more recently. She's very smart. She also doesn't put up with bad behavior. She will yell at you in front of the whole class if you misbehave. She's not for everybody. If you take her, get ready to behave and put some work in.

She was a mean teacher and a hard grader. A history teacher looked over my papers and she still gave them bad grades.

You take two tests throughout semester and are assigned two papers. Professor Giordana is pretty straightforward and clear on what she is looking for. She allows a cheat sheet for the tests. I would 100% take her again and would recommend her. I learned a lot from her :)

PROFESSOR GIORDANO IS HONESTLY THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD AT SCCC. AS LONG AS YOU GO TO HER CLASS AND WRITE HER NOTES THE WAY SHE PUTS THEM ON THE BOARD YOU WILL GET A EASY A!!!!!!!! SHE GIVES YOU 2 PAPERS AND 2 TESTS (WHICH YOU CAN USE YOUR NOTES FOR) SHE IS VERY REASONABLE. DOES NOT LIKE TALKING OR CELLPHONE USE IN HER CLASS. GREAT PROF..

Some of these reviews are ridiculous. She's pretty straightforward about what she expects. She gives you a review sheet, allowing you to use TWO pages (front and back) for the exams and pretty much explains exactly what she's looking for in the 2 papers she assigns. She even offers an extra credit assignment. She's very nice!

Supposed to be a history class, but only discusses politics, and her political views. She is such a one sided person and looks down upon you if you have views different from her, highly recommended to not take her avoid af all cost

I used the textbook from the library for the first week, it's useful but not really necessary. Take good notes, what she writes on the board is what she's looking for in the test and essay. You get to use cheat sheets, if that's solid then you're good. I learned a lot and enjoyed the class. Any questions I had, she was very helpful.

Terrible handwriting, yet you really don't need to pay attention in class since she allows cheat sheets on the tests. Just prepare the cheat sheets and you'll do more than okay. Two papers suck, but just include information that would appeal to her. She barely gets to know anyones name so attendance isn't the biggest deal on days she doesn't check.

Teacher was very knowledgeable but rude. 2 tests & 2 papers, no homework. Lets you bring cheat sheet to tests, lectures are rough & you need to keep up with what she is saying to take notes for the tests.. handwriting is horrible. I did learn a lot though, just had to work very hard.

OK, this instructor is intelligent but ... Tests and papers are hard, she is a tough grader, and will tell you that you don't need the txt. book (you do). Prof. Giordano knows her stuff, but is old school. You have to work really hard to even hit a B. This is coming from a history buff.

2 tests, 2 papers, no homework. She let's you bring a cheat sheet for the tests. Lectures are long and boring, and her notes on the board are all over the place. Yells at the class over every little thing- someone's phone beeps and she'll go off. Tests aren't bad but she's a hard grader for the papers.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!! SHE IS RUDE, GIVES YOU BAD GRADES FOR EVERYTHING, I AM GOOD ON WRITING ESSAYS BUT SHE'S WORSE THAN AN ENGLISH TEACHER CORRECTING ESSAYS. HARD AND CONFUSING TESTS. SHE ENJOYS STUDENT'S BAD GRADES, YOU CANNOT ASK HER FOR THE PAGE of the books that she is talking about. She DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE IN ENGLISH.

not sure why she has such horrible reviews. she wont tolerate laziness but show up, make a genuine effort and youll do fine! she will condense the lesson and let you out early and she allowed a cheat sheet during her two tests. if you approach her she will help you and she gave extra credit. id take her again!

She is the "ideal" college professor. She expects you to read the text before/after the lesson. When she lectures, she summarize the topic and expects that you know the material, also handwriting is often sloppy. If you are willing to work HARD, then I'd recommend her. If you are want an easy-going person who is nice, I don't recommend her.

Can't believe her rating is so low. She doesn't put up with nonsense, so lazy students will suffer. Take notes and ask a question and you're her new best friend. She gave an essay that was worth 20 points...if you can get an A, you suck.
