Comment:
She's really not that great of a teacher. She seems out of touch and has no interest in listening to stories that pertain to the arts. She's also very unclear in her instructions and provides no help even when you email her. She's also not a good grader. I would highly avoid and take whatever class she's teaching with another teacher.

Donna is the embodiment of Jon Stewart. An 11 minute compilation of the man staring at the camera, insulting crazy republicans was the way she began the year. Donna lives in a teenage world where anyone who isn't extremely left-wing is stupid and wrong, and all class discussions centre around her one-sided views. Terrible, unjournalistic.

her class is all over the place, from her grading scheme to her way of teaching. She does a great job at engaging conversation among her students, but I learned more from the readings than from her. She is so unorganized, it is almost stressful. Avoid at all costs; it is a painful class to endure. Still didn't receive any grades back....

This teacher tries very hard and you can see it, but she doesn't know how to keep to classes interest. On top of this she teaches you about the evolution of journalism into the digital age, when she herself doesn't even know how to pause a youtube video. Nice person but not very competent. Easily passable class so take it.

Barely knows her geography, let alone international journalism. Huge disappointment, I was really looking forward to this class.

The material was very easy, but the teaching painful. She doesn't know her stuff too well and she is extremely contradictory. She refers to Canadian and American sources only and completely ignores the media in Qubec (i.e. french culture). Shes kinda ignorant. Amazingly funny quotes though. "Do you know the iBook or iPad or whatever they call it?"

Great class. I learned a lot. I highly recommend this teacher for Opinions and Editorial writing. She knows her stuff and your writing will improve if you pay attention to the comments on your assignments.

You can tell that Nebenzahl actually enjoys opinions and editorials writing and it comes across in the way she teaches this class. Students seemed to be enjoying the class as well (bonus on having a journalism class that is not useless.) If you take/use her suggestions/corrections on your work, you will do better work as the semester goes along.

Features were something that really interested me and somehow she managed to ruin it. Not only was her class a waste of time - I didn't learn anything new and I'm more confused than ever before - but she was the most unclear, uninspiring professor I have had in the journalism department. The only good aspect of her class was the guest speakers. :(

Time and again she contradicted almost everything we had learned previously, and sometimes even herself. In the end, though, either she was very generous in her marking on the final assignment or I actually learned something in the course (both firsts) in finishing with a miraculous A-. Whichever way you slice it, she has some redeeming value.
