All I can honestly say is, DO NOT TAKE HIM! His class was by far the most stressful course I have ever taken and I only needed it as a filler course. He assigns a 7 page research paper and the mid term and final are both essay form (in which you must know every part of the textbook). Not to mention the way he grades is completely unfair!

Boring professor, boring lectures. I didn't do as well on the midterm as I'd like-and made an appointment with him to talk about it-he showed up half an hour late, no apology or excuse-then couldn't talk about my exam because he had to get ready for his class! What little he did say was demeaning and rude.

Lectures are extremely boring & he expects everyone in the class to be history buffs. The tests are all essay. I know I'm a good writer, because I've always gotten A's in english & tested out of having to take english at U of M, but I didn't pass any of these essay exams. Many of the students in my class felt the same way. Very few passed!

If you want to know how History effects us take this professor. Has made more incoming college students History majors than any other professor. Very helpful and fair. Interactive and listens to what you have to say. This guy is the best there is. To bad he doesn't teach any 300+ courses.

Excellent Professor. Best lecturer ive had. Would DEFINATELY recommend taking. Class is fairly easy. Just study! Knows history VERY WELL. Can learn a lot from him. EXCELLENT teacher and a very nice guy in general.

Nice looking for older gentleman. Certainly knows his history. Dont need to read ANY book he assigns just take detailed notes for the tests and know the vocab. All i did was take notes and I passed with a B. Great guy!

His class is by no means easy. Don't skip class and take very detailed notes, because the midterm and final essay questions can be answered from his notes. However, he is a great guy that knows history really well and he made me extreamley intrested in something I hate. great guy.

Man this guy gives alot of work. He has an all-essay midterm and final and requires you to read two books and write two papers based on the books he also gives pop quizes and homework assignments. His terms for the exams are tough but they are nothing compared to the Essay questions.

He is a very knowledgeable professor, but he is boring. I thought the vocabulary was helpful, and his tests and papers were reasonable. The textbooks he assigned were also interesting. He doesn't look like George W. Bush, he looks like Larry Brown.
